On Death Note and Kimeru Icons
Aug. 3rd, 2004 12:40 amFirst off, I've made some new Kime icons. I had some more pics that I hadn't used yet and some free time so I just made some...
They're nothing special, but I like them.

The last one took forever! The pic wasn't that big so I had to fudge a side of it. And the other side interconnected with something else so I had to fix that too. And then the words took forever too... I first did them on the right but decided after like half an hour that it would look better on the left -- except at the time I didn't have much of a left side to put some words so I had to make it. After I did that, I had to decide on the words all over again. I was going to do "Smile!" but it didn't sit well with me so I changed that... It took me forever to decide on a color for it and what outline I should do until I decided to do just a nice black color accented by a white border.
I think I'm going to change my LJ icons... All of them gone. Actually, I kept one Kimeru icon -- the beginning one because I haven't used that one for very long... But for the first time, I'm using a non-Kimeru icon as my default. But it's a PoT one. It's my Angel Fuji icon. I liked it so when I was looking at which icons to use, I couldn't not use it. And the other is my purple Kimeru icon... It's simple and the first one where I just used the word "Kimeru."
Now on Death Note... I started downloading that series yesterday and aside from the two chapters TW did (and one was a side story), I had known much about it. I knew the jist of it but that was about it. Now that I've some chapters, I can say one thing:
DEATH NOTE IS DAMN SCARY.
I started reading it last night and I just thought it would give me nightmares.. Raito is a damn scary kid... I think one of the reasons why I'm so scared is that I think every person, even myself is capable of doing what he's doing because in a way, I do believe what he's doing has some merit. I mean he's getting rid of criminals - the world can use less crime but the whole God complex thing... That was scaring me. And when he killed the person he thought was "L" so quickly and without thinking about it, scared me. It was not good. He's gone over the deep end. He's think he's so great but this just shows that he's really weak.
But despite my fear, I still believe this is a great manga. It's story is well written, the L vs. Raito conflict is brilliantly done and everything just makes sense. I want to keep reading this and I will. I don't know how this will end and I'm eager to find out, even though I suspect it will be a bad ending...
Is it too quick to slash L and Raito together?
Personally, I'd like this to be made into an American triller movie. I think it would come off well with American audiences. The fact that it was based on manga is irrelevant -- The Ring was based on a manga and look how well that did.
One last thing -- I just downloaded Rajipuri 70 and there's this one song in it that sounds like it's sung by a couple of the rivals. It's pretty good but I don't remember a rival CD coming out any time soon... I want that song. There was another song either by or called "Butterfuly" that was also featured but I didn't really like it all that much. It was sung by a girl so...
Well, off to read more fanfics (no new Naruto ones unfortunately) and some more Death Note. My monitor is flickering oddly... I wonder if I should be concerned?
