That was seriously one of the most funniest movie I have ever seen.

It was bloody brilliant! Well, most parts of it anyway.

We got to see an advanced screening of Alexander through NYU and it was pretty okay....

I went into it thinking that Alexander was a great man -- I didn't know that he was also freaking crazy and gay.

The gay-ness of the whole movie was brilliant. All the parts where Alexander was declaring Hephaistion as his only true love made me really happy. They were so meant! They never actually did anything but it was so apparent that they loved each other. I loved it so much because Jared Leto is pretty beautiful -- I kept staring at his eyes, his wonderfully blue eyes amidst those dark locks... Gods, beautiful.

"It was said...that Alexander was never defeated, except by Hephaistion's thighs." Quotes like that make the movie so incredibly funny.

All the moments between Alexander and Hephaistion were brilliant and we, the NYU audience found them to be absolutely hilarious since I think most of us didn't expect it. At first were were like, oh...oh...OH!!! LOL! It was just great.

The fight scenes were too long and chaotic, not mention numerous... At the end of the second hour we were like, is it over yet, oh, good god, there's still an hour to go!

But the Hephaistion's death scene saved the movie. That was seriously the most funniest moment of the whole movie, even though it was totally not meant to be. It was supposed to be all meaningful and everything but it just was hilarious.

Okay, Alexander goes into Hephaistion's room who is dying of typhus (though in the movie, it was implied that he was drugged by Roxane, Alexander's wife) and was all distraught over Hephaistion's dying. He goes on and on about how Hephaistion had to live, that he was his one love and how his wife and Hephaistion's wife would have children and their children would be the best of friends like they were (LOL!!!). And he goes on and on about how the world would be in the future... All this time his back was turned from Hephaistion's bed and he was facing the window and in the background you could see Hephaistion spasming and having convulsions... It was so funny! I just loved it. Seriously, this saved the movie.

Alexander is freaking crazy. I mean, I felt like his downfall was after he married Roxane. He just should have stopped his conquest at Persia and married a nice Macedonian woman and kept his love affair with Hephaistion all nice. But he had to go crazy, lose the respect of his people, dallied with some servent boy (that seemed more explicit than anything he did with Hephaistion), married two other women aside from Roxane and was totally on the outs with his men by the time they reached India (nasty, nasty battle there).

There were a few things that I didn't like -- like how the young boys had British and Irish accents when they were Greek. And how Alexander basically invitied Hephaistion into his tent before the first big battle with Persia and how Hephaistion didn't go in. All the while I was chanting "go in, go in, go in!!!"

It was a funny movie though. It's three hours long but it kept my interest through most of it. The end was depressing as Ptolemy was saying how nobody really believed in Alexander's dreams and that he was a dreamer and how they had to kill dreamers before the dreamers killed them all... That was depressing! :(

I say watch it for the gay undertones and for the funniest of this supposed serious movie. They meant for it to be serious but really it's just funny. And sooo funny it was!!! We laughed so hard at the most unappropriate parts... *laughs* So great.

Okay, now that I've dished about the movie, let me tell you about the stuff before the movie.

So my roommates all were going to it and I had invited Xiao to come with me also... We decided to get there really early since we weren't guaranteed seats even though we had the blue passes. They hand out way too many and you have to be there early to get them exchanged for the real tickets that get you in. We wanted to get dinner before we went and Steph was already in line waiting and saving the rest of us seats. Britany had to go to her Calc. class and hand in homework but she was gonna come right back. So we had lunch and we went out and already the line was huge. At first we thought it was a line for a club near the theatre but it turns out it wasn't. By the end, it already stretched the block and turned and went down the street a ways... *laughs* We were sorta near the front though. Close enough at least.

Anyway, we waited and we waited and we waited... It took so long. It was at the theatre that is right across the street from the dorm so at different times, we darted back and forth from the line and back to the dorm for different things.

They started handing out tickets and somehow I managed to snag an extra one (by deceit, I lied and said I didn't get one yet) since Xiao was saying that if we could get another one, she would invite AJ. And I gave it to her and she did.

Then as time went by and the people came out to tell us about how the film was late so it would be at least 9 PM before they can start the film and how it was three hours long, Britany decided to give up her ticket and leave. Her parents were coming to pick her up and she didn't want to miss them.

Then when we finally got in, it took forever for the movie to actually start and Steph got kinda anxious since she still had a paper to write that was due tomorrow and so she left. And two minutes later the movie started.

Oh, did I mention that AJ did end up coming? I felt like the third wheel again... I think I'm equally jealous for the two of them and am equally happy for them. Even if Xiao is like engaged to a different man... Though that might change this weekend... Whatever.

I go home tomorrow!!! Well, actually very early on Thursday but since I won't be sleeping at all tomorrow, it'll still kinda feel like Wednesday. I have to do so much... Clear out the fridge, do the dishes, wash my clothes, go to class, get signatures, turn the forms in, buy Diana's damned cheesecake... So much to do, so little time. And then I leave for Oregon! Yay!

God, I'm sleepy... I really want to skip bio but I can't. Damn it.
