Of Ken Hirai and codecs
Nov. 14th, 2005 09:19 pmA few days ago, someone on my f-list uploaded the Ken Hirai PV to his newest single Pop Star.
I'm an absolute sucker for Ken Hirai. I love the way he looks white, the way his voice sounds, the way his songs are just so beautiful. There was no way in I could resist downloading it, even if it was over 100 MB in size, it was Ken Hirai and therefore Sherry must have.
Anyway, it's like the most catchy song ever. I absolutely adore it. Ken so does not disappoint in his latest single. And those who've seen his PV (of which I am uploading to YSI at the very moment) know that it's like just full of crack. He plays several different people in it -- the three guys in the group, his fan who is listening to him at home, the two bear dancers, it's great.
So, everyone, you must download and love Ken Hirai and his song Pop Star as much as I do! And then you must download the PV and laugh out loud when you see it. ^^

As for the other part of this entry, codecs. So I was downloading Arienai's and Conclave's version of Ginban Kaleidoscope and they're using the new H.264 codec... I saw that they were mp4 and anticipating some problems but I didn't expect to need to download a host of new codecs just so I can play these files... Anyway, I ended up having to get ffdshow and VSFilter again because apparently the old versions of it that I had wouldn't do the trick. :\
A new format and I get to download several new codecs... It's scary how I open the file and all the little icons appear in the taskbar... I've never had that many show up before... o.O But I guess it's nice to know that I have these so the next time I download something that also uses H.264, I'll be ready for it and won't have to go through this again.
Ah, I'm so tired. It's 9 PM and I haven't done anything! :( I must study! But I just wanna collapse... :( I really hate this. I didn't get my midterm grade for MolecCell yet so I don't know if I have a hope of staying as Bio major yet... I want to know before my registration time, which is at 3:15 on Wednesday (earlier than a lot of sophomores because I went in with 16 extra credits and have been taking 18 credit loads every semester since I've started at NYU) but I need my grade in order to really choose my classes...
We'll see I guess. I really doubt they'll be graded by Wednesday though, even if we do have lecture then...
In other news, the strike is still going on. And tomorrow will be our first day at the alternative site on Hudson Ave on the East somewhere... Let's hope we won't get lost or become late because it's a test date. *makes a face* Sherry no wanna study for Japanese... :( I still have verbs I don't know! Like "to shave a beard." Or "to take off clothes." *looks them up* Which are incidently "hige o suru" and "fuku o nugu" respectively. As if they haven't already bombarded with us with verbs already (so many verbs), they have to tack on these extra verbs at the very end of the chapter too! :( No wonder I don't know them -- when am I ever going to shave a beard? Kyou hige o shimasu? I think not. Hige o shimashou ka? Right. I seriously wonder if she'll actually put these words on the test... But since I don't know, I need to cover my bases and actually remember them. Damn. As if the particles aren't killing me as it is. I hate "ga" and "ni." Both are evil, just evil. I always forget to use "ga" and I don't think I get "ni" very well... *sigh* Study I must and study I go...
