Of Meetings, Schedules, and Shows
Jan. 20th, 2006 12:29 amToday, I skipped an E-board meeting. I seem to be doing more and more things that are uncharacteristic of me. In my life, I believe the fact that are some things people must do, no matter what. It's part of what people deal responsibility but to me it's always been a bit more than that. Rather than being responsible and because you are responsible you do certain things, it's more like being responsible isn't a factor at all. Instead, it's the fact that it's a matter of you must and that there is no other option. E-board meetings are the same way.
Kristen emailed the E-board last night asking us all to meet up the very next day but it was only a tentative meeting (as in it was not set in stone until everyone to respond). But giving us only a few hours to respond is just reasonable! I have work today. I would have to go straight from work to the meeting and there was always the chance that the meeting would not happen. Since I have class all morning (from 8 AM so I leave around 7:20 AM) and then go straight to work after classes, there was no way for me to stop and check up on my email to see if there will be a meeting.
I got to work and my kids were stressed due to final exams and I had two that were especially confused in Chemistry. So I offered to stay after the time I get off (5 PM, I don't get paid for any extra time I stay there so it's just out of my own time) and help them go through it. We ended up ending around 6:30 PM and I didn't get back to the dorm until 7:30 PM. :\ But I'm happy to say at least one of them has shown the fact that he should do okay tomorrow. The other one... She was saying that she understood what I was trying to explain but I'm not totally sure if she really did. I tried to involve her in the problem solving and it seems like she's got parts of it down but I'm not sure about all the other parts... For some reason, they have a problem remembering the magic seven... :\
Tomorrow I get to go again... I found out that my 8:00 AM class has been cancelled and rescheduled to 9:30. That is not exactly the best time because that means I'll lose even more work. *sigh* I'll have to talk to Michelle and Monique about modifying my schedule then... :(
I just finished watching two episodes of Kiken na Aneki and an episode of Yakitate! Japan. God, I've really gotten into Kiken na Aneki! The girl annoys the hell out of me but the guy who plays Yutaro definitely has my heart. I liked him back in Water Boys and I like him now. He's so cute with glasses on. ^^
I just wish I could download the rest of the episodes faster. My sister uploaded first four for me but now I'm trying to get the fifth on BT and even though it's been several hours, it's downloading at practically nothing at all and I've only gotten about 10 MBs of it. :( And they ended episode four on a semi-cliffhanger too... :(
But today, I saw the latest episode of Yakitate!! Japan! I really love Yakitate, I seriously do. I've been following the manga and when I saw the fact that it was going to be an anime, I was so incredibly happy. And they've just did my favorite part of the Monaco Cup arc.
As a slight Yakitate!! Japan tie in, the other day I was at the supermarket and what did I see on the shelves? It was Rice Dream, the stuff Shadow used in his Gohan Pan! I didn't know the stuff actually existed... Man, I thought the mangaka was making up random stuff... Now, I don't know if it's as they said in the anime (or was it in the manga that they used the Rice Dream stuff?) but it actually exists. I was almost tempted to buy it and try it out.
Ah, I'm tried... I've done nothing but waste today away... Right now I'm listening to this Jay Chou song and I have to say, before this song, I never understood how ignorant, stupid could make fun of the Chinese language in such a crude, unrealistic way because no matter what you say, it just doesn't sound like that, but with this song, I have to admit, I can see why they would make the sounds they do. I wonder if he's actually saying actual words though... It just seems like to me that he's just saying random sounds that are really nothing at all. Yeah, way to go Jay Chou, give those people more stuff to make fun of us about. *shrugs* He's probably legitimately saying something in Chinese but I just think it's a joke. Eh, well...
