Scarf!

So... I'm making two scarves. I'm in a crochet madness and the latest is scarves. After the amigurumi, I decided I needed a change of pace and started on a normal scarf. I did placed some square hole designs in it though. It's mainly done by using DCs so it's incredibly easy to make. I'm just trying to get it to the length I want it which is taking me a bit because I'm slow at this sort of stuff....

But then I got bored doing continuous DCs so I decided to try a different style. This scarf is being done in pink instead of the white of the first one and instead of DCs all the way through, I'm alternating DCs and the puff stitch. I had tried earlier to do the puff stitch but it just messing up on me but I finally figured out what I was doing wrong all those times earlier so I corrected my mistake and started again and finally it started working for me. The pattern I'm using for this one it even thinner than the first scarf so I'm a bit worried about the outcome... I don't want it to be too small and not have it able to cover a normal person... :\ Ah, well, we'll have to see later though... I think I have the wrong type of hook for this but I think it's turning out well.

Next, I will try to make an afghan even though it's eluded me all this time. It's that damned slip stitch. I just have no idea where the hell I'm supposed to place it. And doing a ring from a chain was never my strong point. I can so an adjustable ring so much easier... Hmmm... I wonder if I could amend the pattern to include and adjustable ring instead? I guess it's worth a shot at the very least... Well, after the scarves.

Someone remembers me from back in my Sphere days! I'm so shocked and so pleased at the same time! I used the LJfind link that was in hinoai's post (and it really is the coolest thing even if no one really talks about me aside from Diana-chan) and on the off chance, I typed in the name I used to go by. It seems so out there that people still remember me since it's been years since I was last at the Sphere and even longer since I've been active there but someone does remember me! Now, I wanna know who s/he is! I don't recognize the name at all! :( Ah, how I miss the old bunch -- those were some good times.

But, I have to say, I'm just a little embarrassed too. I was such a terrible child back then. While I don't think I've matured much, it makes me cringe to think of the me who existed back then. When will my past stop embarrassing the older me? It certainly has not happened yet. I wrote such awful fanfiction back then (not to mention terrible poetry! *shudders* God, I was such a stupid teenager!)... Okay, I will not think about it anymore because it makes me think of how terrible I was back when I was in the HP fandom too and the lack of growth is starting to annoy me. I'm annoyed at myself and I'm sad that I ever showed such a side to myself...

Ah whatever. It was a part of me so it's not like I can run from it forever. And it's not like I want to. I do have such wonderful memories of those days, even if most of the ones of myself weren't so great, everything else was. So they'll always have a fond place in my heart. And with tag0's latest update to her Eye of the Storm story, it feels as though a bit of those times are still alive today. ^^

So...currently I am listening to Nickelback's Savin' Me. For some odd reason, I really love this song. Or maybe it's that I really love Nickelback and all of Nickelback's songs sound surprisingly alike that this one is appealing to me. Either way, this song has been in my head ever since I heard it on the radio a few weeks ago and while I've been meaning to download it, I hadn't until now. But now that I have it, I'm happy. I'm always trying to expand my music collection beyond the regular Japanese music. As much as I love Japanese music, having a collection that is like 90% Japanese can get tiring at times. I don't even have that big of a collection in other Asian music... We got rid of DirectTV in favor of DISH Network so I don't even have that one Chinese channel that does Canto MV so I could get exposed to new Chinese music. And it's not like I have Chinese friends who are into that scene to introduce me to new stuff either. But, that's okay.

Tomorrow is Kent's last day of school! And it's half day! And the day after is Diana-chan's coming back day! And then it's Saturday and the US will play Italy in an hopefully good match where we can possibly tie? We desperately need a tie or a win. A win would be nice but is it possible? I have no idea especially after their last game but hope springs eternal right?

Either way, I'm really looking forward to the Korea vs. France match on the 18th! DAE HAN MIN GUK! DAE HAN MIN GUK! DAE HAN MIN GUK! No matter what the time the match is on here on the West Coast, I will watch it all live! Although, I do have to say this. While the East Coast air times aren't that bad, the ones here on the West Coast suck. I mean first game starts at 5:55 AM? The last game to start is like 11:30 AM. For someone who sleeps until 2 PM, it seems ungodly early. But I'll manage to drag myself up from bed somehow. I mean it's Korea. I definitely am into Korea so I hope to ride this Korean buzz for a while. ^^

Well, doesn't this just make me want to watch a soccer anime! I wonder if I brought all my Wild Striker back home? Hmm... I'll have to check tomorrow. Now, I probably should go to sleep soon. But after one more fic. :)
