Allergies suck
Jun. 29th, 2006 02:08 pmIt's been a few days I've last written on LJ, hasn't it? I can't even remember writing about it over this terrible weekend at all. It seems as though things are moving so damn quickly. First Diana goes off camping, then there was the boyfriend scare. And now it's confirmed that the boyfriend does exist and he might be coming over for the 4th of July to "meet the family." Personally, it sounds like "steal my girlfriend for a day" to me. Ah, whatever. I personally don't really want to meet him -- I'm not good with people and I'm still mixed about how I feel about him so it seems like a opportune time to exercise caution and just avoid the hell out of this issue.
Anyway, Saturday we did Sushiland and had some yummy conveyor belt sushi. I love their eel (but I love anybody's eel if they can do it well) and their tuna is pretty good as well. I dislike their spicy tuna, which really is a damn shame because I love spicy tuna the most out of all the different types of sushi out there. They had dollopped the spicy sauce on top the roll and all the places that I've had it before always had it mixed with the tuna inside the roll so it was a change and one that I didn't like.
That day we bought shoes (sale at JCPenny!), some clothes and I finally got to read the 10th volume of W-Juliet at Barnes & Noble. I never noticed it before, but directly across it is a Borders Express which is really sad for Borders. I mean that Barnes and Noble is already like four times larger than it by just their first floor and then you have the second floor to think about... It's a wonder they get any business at all...
I was happy to read the 10th volume but that was until I saw the 11th volume. And here I thought I was caught up too... :\ I will have to make time to go and read that on. I had thought about buying them but I just couldn't do it thinking about Kare Kano and how behind I'm on buying those.
Oh! I'm getting a new Kare Kano manga and the last one for Yellow! I'm so excited. It's stupid but Yellow ended on a cliffhanger and I really want to see my boys happy again. Plus, it's a such pretty series so I like having it around. As for Kare Kano, I'm still like five or six volumes behind at least from the latest release but I'm working my way through them and am starting to make a dent in it.
After that it was furniture shopping and that was...fun. We've finally narrowed it down to a possible dining room table that we might possibly buy. Maybe. My mother's apparently the most choosy person in the world. Yay. At least I found the style of a bedroom set that appealed to me. :)
Saturday was the start of the heat -- it was upper 80/90s and then Sunday it was like in the 100s, and then it went down to the 90s on Monday. It was pretty unbearable but we lived through it by staying indoors where there's A/C, eating a lot of Otter Pops and drinking a lot of fluids. And now it's cool again. Which is not necessarily a great thing. I like the cooler weather (when it got cool in the mornings was so wonderful and such a nice reprieve) but my allergies seem to be a little worse now. I'm not even sure if I've just eaten too many fried foods that my throat is hurtinng and that I'm coughing. It's a Chinese thing, something I don't really believe but if you're ingrained with it your entire life, it sticks with you. I'd like some of that nice Chinese tea right about now -- it'll be sooo soothing. Anyway, it's probably just nasty allergies all around because the grass pollen in Hood River is rather high now (grass here, tree in New York, I don't think I'll ever be able to escape this). Which all amounts to a Sherry-hell. Yay.
Wimbledon has started and I have yet to watch a single match. T_T I'm stuck at the new house because Diana has trapped me here and we have no cable here so it's all very sad... I even missed the Henman (whom I actually like!) and Federer match yesterday! Ugh. Federer won, as always and to be expected but I wanted to watch it... And it's Agassi's last Wimbledon! I must watch the U.S Open if it's the last thing I do. I will not miss Agassi's last matches. Right now I'm thanking god that I have a TV in the dorms so I could watch the very last matches when I get back to New York.
edit x1: The PuriPuri drama is...yeah. Princess Princess bothered me as a manga, it bothered me as an anime and I feel as though those boys in the drama are staring at me... :\ Their eyes are like focused on the camera, or they're very close to the camera. Or maybe it's the other way around? And somehow, boys actually crossdressing is not as pretty as in the manga and anime. There's just something that's bothering me about it but I can't pinpoint what it is... :\
