Made cupcakes! And Music Downloads!
Feb. 18th, 2007 09:51 pmI made cupcakes! I normally make them chocolate on chocolate, something I would normally find icky since I hate sweets and I hate chocolate and chocolate on chocolate is just way too much chocolate but I'm craving and I'm craving badly. It was so sad -- I was waiting for them to finish baking and I couldn't stop eating the damn frosting. It was just sooo good! T_T I really shouldn't have snacked on it...
I really hate waiting for cakes to finish cooking and I hate waiting to frost them because I really love to frost! It's always the thing that gets me every time. As I had nothing to do while my cupcakes were cooling, I just snacked on the frosting... It was my undoing... :\
Okay, off the subject of my delectable cupcakes. I've been watching a lot of Scrubs lately (the first four seasons in the last week alone!) and I've fallen in love with some of the music! And I've been having a couple of songs that keep playing on my iPod that always make me go "hey, I should upload that song and share it with the whole world because I love it so much!"
So I took a page out of
yoshikochan's book and I uploaded all my favorite songs so far!!!
First, my songs from Scrubs because I just adore them so much! They're from mostly seasons 1 through 4 since that's only as far as I've gotten.
Colin Hay - Overkill
Shawn Mullins - All In My Head
The Shins - New Slang
Guided By Voices - Hold On Hope
G Tom Mac - Half
The Churchills - Everybody Gets What They Deserve
Joshua Radin - Don't Look Away
I especially adore The Shin's New Slang. It's not even my type of music but every time I hear it, I just think it's one of the coolest songs ever. And Shawn Mullin's All in My Head is wonderful as well. It first starts up and you wonder, WTF? But then it surprises you with how good the song is!
And the one song by the Churchills and the song by Joshua Radin (he actually has a ton of songs on Scrubs -- I guess that's because he's friends with Zach Braff... :\) are wonderful too. I just finished watching episode 4.22 and the Joshua Radin song was on. It was the one episode where JD decides to move out and it's playing in the background. And the Churchill song was in 4.21, the episode before it. It just struck me by how much I like the song. ^^ It's such a typical Sherry song.
Oh, how I found that out? Totally thanks to
ramble_corner for posting in her journal about http://www.tunefind.com It's an absolute goldmine! I adore it totally and it's just perfect when you're wondering what songs were airing during a specific episode.
I still have some more songs though! First is TOHOSHINKI's Miss You which I've been into for a while now... It's the first song of theirs that really made me sit up and take notice at their music because it's just so different. Just listening to it is fun. And it really showcases their vocals so well. Everytime it goes on, a smile goes on my face because it just makes me happy just to be listening to it.
The next song is Fujioka Masaaki's Panorama, which is actually the ending theme song to Gakuen Heaven. I had actually seen about three episodes of Gakuen Heaven before I totally decided I hated the anime. And at that point, I had only downloaded the opening theme. But then someone had requested the ending song from my website (even though my list didn't have it listed) but since I hate having incomplete collections, I went out and downloaded the whole single just to say I had it. And am I glad I did! It's absolutely wonderful! I couldn't believe what a good song it was! It's soft in the way I like my soft music and it's soothing and it's just a nice calming song altogether. In it's first week along, I must have played it over and over again so many times....
Next is a song of twins. I don't normally listen to Twins. I don't normally listen to Cantopop either for that matter but I saw the Twins 6th anniversary album on Jpopsuki and I thought, "what the hey, I might as well give it a try" and so I did end up downloading it.
And as I was wiki'ing twins, I came across the name of the song 明愛暗戀補習社 and they mentioned it as their first breakout song. So I decided to give it a shot and it's like freaking crack for me. It's so damn catchy and so damn addicting. I can't explain it exactly -- I just can't seem to stop listening to it. It's just amazing to me. I can see how it became so popular though. I mean it got me hooked so quickly... I still can't get out the part where they say "History gives me love. Chemistry gives me love. Biology gives me love. Music gives me love. So let me feel what is love" out of my head... It's just so...damn catchy.
The last two songs are new songs to me even if they might be oldies to others. Their off of Miriam Yeung's Simply Me album. The first song, 處處吻, from the very first moment that I heard it, I knew it would be a good song. It's a bit subdued, so it might be just a little depressive but it's still a good song. I love how it sounds, how it works with her voice, and I love the overall feel of the song.
The other song is Miriam's 花好月圓夜 which first got my interest when it started off with traditional Chinese sounds. It's a duet, something I didn't know until the guy started singing. And you know me, toss a guy in and I immediately get interested. But his voice, it was just so damn familiar but I had no idea why. Then I googled the Chinese characters for his name and I found out why. It's a duet with Richie Ren! I had no idea that he could speak Cantonese like that... Anyway, it was a nice little duet and their voices worked so well together that I started liking it immediately. Sometimes Miriam's voice can get a bit jarring so when it works, and when it sounds so nice, I immediately gravitated towards it.
