Survivor: Fiji
Mar. 9th, 2007 10:59 pmI didn't get a chance to watch last night's episode of Survivor because I was studying for today's Physics midterm so I downloaded it and just watched it. Survivor this season is so incredibly depressing.
I am a Ravu fan. It's hard not to want to root for the underdogs. And oh my god, they're probably the worst underdogs ever -- not good underdogs that make you feel good but really sad because they just keep on losing -- they seriously have not won a challenge yet. That is seriously all whacked. And you start to hate Moto more and more and it kills that they keep on winning.
Sure, there are a couple of nice people on Moto like Alex. God, I love that guy -- brilliant! If it comes down to just Moto picking off all the Ravu people, then I seriously hope he wins because I think he's the only one that really deserves it at this point. Cassandra is nice, Edgardo is also. Dreamz rubs me the wrong way but I don't hate him. The other three are just... After seeing this last episode, I think they're evil. That was seriously, really mean-spirited... I'm sure part of it is manipulated to show them at their worst but at the same time, I can't help but think it was just really mean and I hate it when other people are mean to other people. It just makes me think of all the times I was the at the brunt of someone's ill-will and it makes me feel sick inside. Why are people mean to other people? I think on some level, I try to stay uninvolved with other people so I don't unintentionally make them feel bad about themselves... I always end up feeling bad about making them feel bad so in my mind, that means it's something that isn't logical and really isn't worth the effort. Why do something that gives you a small level of satisfaction when in the end all it does is end up hurting you more? That to me is a no brainer.
Anyway, the way it's going is that they're going to the merge with probably seven and three (with Moto winning every single elimination challenge) and I think I'm kinda okay with that. I'm really sad that more people from my beloved Ravu tribe (it's hard not to feel for them when they've got nothing and they feel like they're nothing...) but I think it's just something that can't be changed. And with the way Moto is treating their tribe, I'm pretty certain that Dreamz and Cassandra are going to switch over and that will shake up the game so much and I can't wait until that happens. Right now, it's just boring watching Survivor. I mean watching Ravu lose every single time? Every single challenge? See them sink deeper in the hole that they've fallen in, no pushed into -- it's all just depressing and I don't want to have my own spirit being pushed down because of it. It just makes me want to stop watching.
Right now, I'm going to try a new anime called Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou and hopefully it'll be somewhat interesting... The ones that I've started before this -- Sumomo no Momo mo was...a bit too idiotic for me. Bunsou Renkin didn't feel real and I had a hard time connecting with the show. D.Gray Man just fails to interest me. And Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto is just boring. The only other show that I was slightly interested in was Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge which was okay but it's also a bit too odd for me I think... The whole loving the occult thing and the whole morphing from being a teeny tiny girl to a fierce, tall, scary woman is just a bit too odd for me, I think.
What I would really like is a fun anime that doesn't try to be too serious and is funny to watch. Or a really nice sports anime. The third season of Major is out but the fansubs are just so slow... I'm tempted to download raws. Actually, I should do that. I mean, it'll probably help my Japanese in the long run. But at the same time, I'm not sure I want to spoil myself with a show that I really love watching.
*sigh* There has to be something out there that's interesting to watch... I'm running out of everything it seems like. I don't have much in terms of anime, dramas -- Japanese or American, TV shows in general actually... I don't even have that many good fanfics that seem to keep me regularly satisfied. At this rate I might have to go out and actually entertain myself with things not computer related.
Anyway, here's to hoping that this new anime is somewhat good... :\ I guess I can always go and catch up on Bleach and One Piece.
