So, there are three advance screenings offered right now -- Vacancy, Perfect Stranger and Disturbia and they're all horror movies! Movies that I avoid with a passion! T_T This is so not fair! What is with the influx of horror movies all of a sudden?

Still, I'm almost tempted to go and get those tickets just because they're advance screenings and they're free...

Oh dear... Love and Voice released the 45th chapter of HwD and I have it and I wanna read it now but my roommate is in the room! What to do, what to do... HwD is probably one of the more sex driven mangas I have and I don't want to shock her... Still, sorta knows about my yaoi hobby already so maybe it'll be okay? Ah, I don't know. But I wanna read the chapter now!

I'm going to read it. Roommate be damned. I don't really like her that much anyway...

So tomorrow is my advisor meeting so I had to figure out my class schedule for next year... If I get into everything that I want to get into, I will be taking Advanced Japanese, Microbiology, Biochemistry and Computers in Principle and Practice. I've heard good things about both of the Biology courses so hopefully they'll be okay... Biochem is a graduate course open to undergrads, which is a bit scary since it's graduate level but hopefully it isn't too bad. It might be my big science class of the year though... I had knock out Evolution to take it because I really want to take Microbiology. It's been a favorite of mine since way back when and I wanted to take it this year but I couldn't fit it in because of Japanese. But now I can! ^^

I have decided to take Japanese, providing I actually pass it this year. Hopefully I won't screw up on the final and ruin my grade because now that I've actually gotten the access code for it, it would kinda suck if I can't take it.

For the longest time, I really didn't know what fourth course to take. But my lab partner in Physics has always been talking about her computer courses and that has inspired me to take a computer course as well, just for fun. It would be nice to brush up on those old Dreamweaver skills (that I've so totally forgotten now since Junior year in high school) and to learn some good Photoshop ones. I always feel as though I'm playing around when it comes to those programs so it'll be nice to really to formally learn how to use them.

I really wish I could take Evolution though... *sniffs* It's only offered in the fall and next year is my last year at NYU so I'll never have a chance to take it... T_T I passed on it this year because I wanted to finish up my MAP requirements... But my other Bio courses are also in the fall only so if I wanted to take Evolution, I would have to forgo Biochem. I want to ask my advisor about Biochem -- should I take it over Evolution or vice versa? Thankfully, my schedule works out that even if I decide to take Evolution, I can still take the other three courses that I had planned on taking. The Computers course is in the timeslot of where Evolution falls but there's another section of the Computers course so I could just take it later. And since I'm knocking out Biochem, I won't have classes really late at night either... Biochem is from 4:55 (I have like 10 minutes to run from Japanese to Biochem) to 6:10 on Tuesdays and Thursdays and the recitation is on Thursdays from 6:30 to 9:00. Yeah, you read that right -- 9:00. That's two and a half hours. TWO AND A HALF HOURS. And that's only after a twenty minute break from the actual lecture. As much as I would like to scream NO WAY IN HELL, I also know that it's a worthwhile course to take so... Still, if my advisor tells me that Evolution is probably a better course to take, well then, that would be a different story. I'm not so emotionally invested in Biochemistry so I really don't care all that much about it. I do however find Evolution fascinating and probably always will.

There is an upside about not taking Evolution though... I won't have class until 11 PM on Mondays and Thursdays which is pretty sweet, if I do say so myself. Right now I basically have Monday and Wednesday afternoons free and Tuesdays and Thursday mornings free. And all of Friday. And excluding a random recitation at 9:30 on Tuesdays. But still, it's pretty nice. And since I register on the first day of registration, I'm pretty confident that I'll get into all the classes that I want to get into. And if I don't, I really will be pissed off because it's the first freaking day and if I don't get into the courses that I want to, there's something really wrong with it all.

Anyway, enough on that. I ended up reading that HwD chapter even with my roommate in the room. It really was a tame chapter -- very little sex and it was also interrupted by a small breakdown. But damn! Crazy, dangerous Iwaki is so...breathtakingly amazing... I was shocked that he could make such a face! It was wonderful and I can't wait to read the next chapter... But they say it's going to be a while which is sad... It makes me kinda want to buy the raw volume but I really shouldn't... :\ I found some photos of it but they kinda suck and are blurry so I couldn't make out most of the words... :(

This along with the Fuyu no Semi OVA has really made me realize how much I still love HwD. It's still my number one favorite yaoi manga ever. The characters continually evolve and it's really nice to read something that shows a healthy sex-life, a well-balanced professional life and a couple that have stayed together through it all. They're not stagnant at all -- they're always developing, always changing. I mean now, Iwaki certainly seems to have reach a conclusion about himself and I love it. He was always just a bit softer than Katou and he became even softer after he fell in love and while I understand that, I also miss the older, more impenetrable Iwaki who only held disdain for the young upstart Katou. And seeing him be more mature, be stronger is wonderful.

And Katou -- he's obviously been growing as well, trying to be a better man for Iwaki and how could you not admire that?

I didn't realize it, but they've apparently been through a lot together. These last 12 volumes apparently chronicled almost a decade of their relationship. Isn't that wild? It's like an eight (some say it's nine years but I don't know so I'm erring on the side of caution) year relationship, of which they've been married for over half of that as well... How many mangas, much less YAOI ones that span that long of a timespan? Of a strong, ever growing relationship? Even romance novels which I love to death always end when the couple gets together -- they don't tackle what happens when they are together, after the initial ups and downs... This manga has them established but still living life and I think that's what I love most about it. I'm still in awe of this manga and I think I always will. And today I had a wonderful squee over it because damn, evil!Iwaki really is hot. ^^
