Pot and Food (lots of yummy food)
Apr. 22nd, 2007 05:09 pmSo today I got up even though I didn't want to (seems like that's a recurring theme with me) but for the first time in days since I had my all-nighter (don't think I'll do that again...) I felt like I was somewhat okay and caught up with sleep. I decided to walk to Tammy's apartment in St. Marks because it's only like 15 or so streets and it was a nice day... I checked the weather and it said it was 73 which is pretty high so I though okay, no coat. What I should have thought was, okay no coat, time to break out my sandals and shorts because summer has finally come! Me and my long pants was really hot as I walked down with the sun beating down me.
It was a pretty unproductive meeting though. I don't think we really accomplished anything at all... Hopefully it'll be okay... Tammy was smoking all throughout the meeting (and drinking as well) and I was a bit out of my element. I'm not so comfortable with the people who drink and do drugs and all that... It really flared my allergies and I think I have a headache from the pot that she was smoking... I'm feeling kinda out of it... :\ I think I might take a nap after this... What would be nice. And then deal with evil Japanese and Physics. *makes a face*
*sigh* So I hadn't eaten anything before going over to Tammy's place so I decided that I should go and get something. I mean I was in St. Marks and there's a ton of places that I could go to in that area.
I decided to hit Otafuku since it was close and I had wanted to actually go there and watch them make the okonomiyaki and takoyaki since the first time I had food there, I had met up with Janet who had already gotten it for the both of us.
It was pretty cool. I got there at the end of the making of the takoyaki so I'm still not quite sure how they make them so incredibly round when it's a half circle pan... :\ But I did get myself some nummy food.
I opted for Combo B which is the konomiyaki and takoyaki (the others have yakisoba and I've heard that yakisoba isn't so great there and I've never been a fan of yakisoba in the first place) and as much as I wanted to eat it on the spot, I decided to go back to my dorm room where I have AC and I could get out of my stuffy clothing. So I walked over to 3rd Ave and 10th to catch the NYU bus and while I was waiting, I really wanted to go into Saint Alps and get a bubble tea. I mean I was standing right in front of it. But I ended up not because I had tried to restrain myself. Especially since I wanted to go out tomorrow for food and had went out for food yesterday.
Oh, yesterday? I had Curry and Curry's Chicken Tikka Masala. Very good. I also go their vegetable samosa. It was a lot of food surprisingly -- a lot more rice than I'm used to and a lot more of the sauce. The chicken wasn't too dry so I was pretty happy with it. I had asked them for medium spiciness and it was mild at best. I was a bit disappointed about that... I do like spicy foods... :( The samosas however were definitely in the hot range which I didn't like all too much. I ate it with the tamarind sauce to cut the spiciness a bit since I'm not a big fan of raita. I ate it with some nice homemade sweet tea (am so loving sweet tea right now -- I make it all the time now) but there was way too much and I ended up saving half of it for dinner tonight.
Anyway, I am seriously loving food. I wish I had enough money to eat out all the time and probably can't afford it now so I have to stop. Man, I need to get paid so badly. I have about $250 in pay that I haven't gotten yet and after this week, I should be up to about $500 in unpaid wages with no idea when I'll be paid... :\ Gah, I need money... I'll turn in those timesheets that I FINALLY got signed but still ended up forgetting to turn in on Friday so hopefully I'll get paid in two weeks? *crosses finger* At this point, I think I may have to use my credit card to pay for storage over the summer. :\ Hopefully my mother can forgive me for this unexpected charge. *sigh*
Okay, nap for a few hours, then Japanese oral memorizing.
