Yesterday, my parents watching a TVB drama so I was left with scrambling to find something for them to watch. That lead me to D-addicts, a place I’ve frequented a lot for J-dramas but I never thought to look there for TVB stuff. But I should have thought of it before. I mean it does Asian dramas – I’ve even downloaded Korean and Taiwanese stuff from there so why shouldn’t they have stuff from HK as well? And there’s Megaupload links! Oh my god! I don’t have to muddle my way through BT! So happy!!!

And I caved with Megaupload... I was feeling really frustrated since I had to wait 45 seconds (and then 25 seconds after I got the free membership) and having to wait like 233 minutes because I exceeded the download limit. So I went and bought myself a premium account. Besides, I get a free month with the purchase so... I still don't quite know what that means in terms of uploading and other stuff besides downloading really, really fast and without waiting, plus multiple downloads at once! Sure, it's only for a limited time, but for right now when I'm in TVB stuff and I can download tons of stuff, it's absolutely perfect, even if it's for a small fee.

Right now I'm into Welcome to the House, the old TVB sitcom. And I'm downloaded Sweet Hot and Sour (I think the name has been changed to something else now...) which is also the new sitcom. The older one is a bit more interesting and a bit more funny. And I've got Brink of Law! I have yet to watch it, but I will. ^^ So happy about this! ^^

There are still a few dramas that I can't get though... Like War and Destiny and Net Deception... I suspect I"ll have to muddle my way through BT with those. :\

I'm shocked though. There are so many more non-Chinese people in TVB shows now. I 've been so out of it that I didn't even notice! I mean sure there was one or two people but I'm seeing more and more of them now... It gives me such a kick to see them speaking Cantonese. And I'm a bit in awe of them -- Cantonese is really hard to learn! The fact that they can do it well is pretty awesome. I mean I'm Cantonese myself and I totally suck at it. Okay, I'm off to try Brink of Law -- hopefully it's good. I need a good law drama right about now. :)

edit x1: Oh my god, Brink of Law is wonderful! I'm totally in love with it and I think I found the next show my parents will be watching. I'm still not quite sure of all the characters' names but Ron Ng and Steven Ma are in it! ^^ I think their characters are totally gay for each other even if they both have their own love interests. And like any typical TVB drama, each seems to have more than one. It'll be interesting to see how this show ends because you've got some very evil people, some cops and lawyers plus friends and potential girlfriends added into the mix. It's dirty and complicated but hopefully it'll be a wonderful show.

And I think I found my next big show -- The Drive of Life. It's supposedly the next 60 episode TVB drama dealing with the 10th anniversary of the handover of HK back to China. Everyone is predicting it to be awesome and from what I know about it now, I think it will be pretty good. I can't wait for the first episode! I mean a show that spans 10 years? And it's a joint with CCTV! I'm still not quite sure that's a good thing yet but we'll see. I'll definitely be one of the first to download this show.

He got lost!

LOL!!!

I find that absolutely amusing.

So the story is Kent, through Mugglenet or some other type of Harry Potter site, found out that there were going to be these advance screenings of the Harry Potter movie in select cities around the United States. All you have to do is put the people doing the screening as a friend on your MySpace.

So like a crazy HP fan, Kent did it and then proceeded to wrestle with his inner self about going or not. The show was actually at 7 PM today and he had planned on remaking his Physics final. He had left with two days left in the school year, finals season for Boys State so now he has to remake his finals.

So after much thought, he finally decided to go take the plunge. Fearing that there would be crazy HP fans with the same idea, he proceeded to leave Hood River at around 5:30 AM and got to Portland at 6:30 AM. The screening was taking place at Lloyd Center and the mall itself doesn't even open until 10 AM. So apparently when he got there, he found all the doors locked. So he went to sleep for like two hours in his car and then tried the doors again. That's when he encountered another HP fan and they found the only door open to them. Apparently by that time, there were already about 150 people waiting in line for the movie.

After that, he waited in line, met up with some of his friends from Hood River and the people gave out the bracelets that would let them in at noon. After that, he popped over to my cousins' house to see our ailing grandfather and to have lunch. And then he went back to wait in line some more.

Apparently, according to him, this movie was 27.5 miles better than any other of the previous movies and that everyone thought it was awesome in every way. And that it had everything. And apparently, people cheered and applauded Draco's first appearance! *squee* As a big fan of Tom Felton as Draco (more of Draco than anything else -- can't get rid of those old slasher feelings for the smart one of the relationship), I was please to know he still has supporters out there who would still cheer for him. Ah, Draco, he fills me such good feelings.

I might actually have to see this movie now. But I really don't want to! This was an awful book, how could it make a good movie?! But Draco... And Snape...And god, Draco, Draco, Draco! I almost just want to see Draco moments in it and exclude everything else.

Anyway, Kent is now on his way home, but not before getting lost. Apparently, he couldn't figure out how to get back on the freeway and spent 10 minutes unsure of where he was or how to get home. So he decided to call home and get directions. I guess without the light of day, driving is a lot harder in a city that isn't your own? Well, not anymore in any case since we did move away from Portland over a decade ago... And Kent was only in the first grade at the time.

Anyway, apparently my mother was of no help because she wanted to know if Kent was going West but Kent was going East so then Kent went East but then our mother said West but then changed to East and then enquired as to whether or not he had stopped the car to try and orient himself. I guess Kent got fed up with her and hung up but he finally found a sign that told him how to get onto the freeway so now he's coming home. So a bit of an adventure overall, and while I found his predicament amusing, I'm glad he had fun and thought it was all worth it. Even if it did mean lying to our grandmother about where he's going, leaving in the early morning without our parents' permission and all that. If he's happy, I'm happy and if he thinks it was worth it despite all, then good for him.
