I succumbed to my laziness and got food delivered today instead of making food. Buying my meals always make me guilty because I always feel like I could have made something instead and saved a hell of a lot of money. I mean if I go out to eat, unless I'm getting fast food or cheap Chinese food in Chinatown, I typically spend about $15-20 a meal. I'm sure for some, that's rather reasonable but seeing as I'm a college student who has almost no money at all and typically spend $40 every two weeks on groceries. Twenty bucks is like a whole week's worth of food. That's like...at least nine meals (I'm typically not here during lunch during the weekdays but generally make food when I am around).

But me and Janet have this thing, sorta irregular thing where we go to new restaurants to try and just enjoy good food. We are in a unique place in the world and thus, have access to a lot of different places. We haven't done anything in like three weeks because of conflicting schedules and midterms. This was one of the first free Fridays I've had in weeks but we didn't have anything planned so I decided to try something new and get something good since it was cold and miserable outside (and I had to walk into it) and I was too lazy to make anything.

Anyway, I went onto Seamlessweb.com, one of my favorite websites ever. It's so damn convenient! You go online, you order and you put in your credit card information and then in half an hour or so, you have hot food delivered right to my door. That's awesome in my mind and I think whomever thought of the idea is a genius. I've use it countless number of times and I've got to say, I love it. What makes it great in my mind is that you don't have to talk to anybody, go anywhere, or use any cash. You even provide the tip online so you all you have to do is receive the order.

Today, I ordered from Alfanoose Middle Eastern Cuisine. As it's name applies, they do Middle Eastern cuisine. Today I got the Vegetarian Combination Platter for $12. At that price, I think it was a steal. I've got to say, I've never been so stuffed from something I got delivered. I rarely go over $16 when it comes to getting delivery so everything is comparable.

The Vegetarian platter consists of mujadarra, basically this rice and lentil dish, five balls of falafel, baba ganoush, hummus and one pita. The pita was about 10 inches in diameter. I also got another order of pita since I didn't think one was enough for 75 cents. All together with tax and tip, the total came out to be around $15.50.

I didn't think I was going to get so much food! It was all in one container and it was literally filled to the brim. I would have have liked there to have been some separation because the baba ganoush and hummus were right next to each other and that had falafel on top... There were also these random veggies, some slices of red onion, some pickled cucumber slices and these red vegetables that I wasn't able to place, either from sight or taste. The pita were packaged separately, thankfully. And they also gave me some sauces, one that was red and way spicy and something else that I thought was raita but when I tasted it, it seemed like it was some type of sour cream...

Man, I had a field day trying to eat it all. But it beat me. I was able to finish off both of the pitas, the falafel and the random, sparse veggie things. I still have hummus and mujadarra left... But damn, they gave me a ton of both. There plus, there was at least two times as much mujadarra as there was the hummus (got about equal amounts of hummus and baba ganoush) and that's a lot of rice and lentils. I wonder if it's because all this stuff are just really filling foods. I feel so stuffed that I think I should have stopped when I finished the pita off because at that point, I still had a lot more of the mujadarra hummus and baba ganoush left. Instead, I tried eating all of it until the point where I realized I just couldn't.

It was really yummy though. It's definitely one of the better meals that I bought. And now I think I'm going to lie down because I'm so stuffed, I don't think I can even think about eating any time soon and I really don't feel like doing anything either... I think I'm going to play Pokemon Diamond on my DS... My brother got me into playing it yesterday and now I'm just a bit addicted. Just a little. It's almost sad but I can't help but I get into.
