Eli Stone

I was hesitant to start a show like Eli Stone, something that is partly based on faith and that a being of high power exists out there but I'm glad I tried it because I LOVE IT.

It's quirky. It's funny. It's so out there that I can't believe it's actually somewhat believable. The characters are so rich and memorable, each different in their own way. And there's singing! And I don't care that it's about faith and God or whatever because it's heartwarming and fun.

Yesterday's episode was AWESOME. I've been waiting for the earthquake episode ever since it was introduced and I was sad to see each week not addressing it because it was such an elephant that would totally slam dunk the whole whether or not Eli's hallucinations are really prophetic or if he's just crazy squarely on the side of "God exists!"

And I really wanted that validation because I really started to like Eli Stone. He is a good man and you want to cheer and root for him to be right.

As for the whole Eli with Maggie/Taylor, Taylor with Dowd, Maggie with Scott, etc (personally, I'm starting to think of Eli/Dowd but that's the slasher in me wanting something not hetero and something with two neat guys, although Dowd is a bit of a pig but that's what makes him interesting), well, it's nice that it's not decided yet. Although, it does seem like Eli is going to get with Maggie and they're going to have a kid. Maybe. Who knows, that kid might not be theirs together. *shrugs* It's still pretty open in my mind.

But god, episode 12 was just that good! Eli's speech at the end was so amazing and I kept cheering for him and hoping to see a mass walk out of everyone. It didn't happen but a few of them actually left so at least some believed him. And now more of them are going to too! How can you ignore something like that? And I absolutely went crazy at Jordan's staunch support of Eli. Jordan's played by Victor Garber, an actor I've been crushing on since I was like 12 and I saw him play the King in the Cinderella musical with Brandi in it. I mean I went and bought the VHS tape mainly for him. And then Alias totally cemented my love of him forever so yeah. I also adore father-role characters so that also play a part of it all since that's what he basically was in all the things I've seen him in.

Oh, what I wouldn't give to be there while they're shooting. I mean they break out in song and dance and even though it's in hallucinations, those actors actually have to do stuff like that so to see how they deal would be pretty cool I think. Man, I think I want to see the episode again. I mean they've been some pretty satisfying episodes so far but that one really hits the spot. I'm all melty thinking about it. ^^
I really hope it gets picked up for a full season though. I don't know if has been or if it's been canceled or what but I want more. Last episode is on Thursday and I know I'm going to want to see more of it. After losing Journeyman, something I really did like a lot and Big Shots, something that I found pretty amusing, I'm feeling pretty hard hit when it comes to new shows this season... And I really want to see more of this series. I mean it got me to accept that in that universe there might be a God and that has to be something, right? God, I just really want more! I can't wait until Thursday though! We get to see the fallout and the reactions to Eli being right. I can't wait!!
