Oh good god..
Jul. 18th, 2008 05:46 amThe house shook. Like literally quivered and moved and shook.
I am so freaked out right now that I can't sleep. What the hell is with this wind?! it shouldn't be this strong at all... I mean we're the Gorge and all and we're known for pretty strong winds but this is crazy. I can hear the rattling of the wind as it hits the house and I can hear it moving pretty loudly but for a moment there, the whole house felt like it was hit full blast and shuddered in reaction. Very creepy. We're only getting about 20 mph winds right now (apparently it peaked an hour ago at around 27 mph) and that's really not that bad... Still, it's keeping me up a bit and I'm just a bit freaked out by the loudness of it. And because my house seems to be shaking because of it.
Methinks today will be an awesome day for the windsurfers. I hope they enjoy this wind because I'm definitely not. I have this irrational fear that my house is going to be blown apart by the wind... :\
edit x1: Whoops, guess I was wrong. I just found out that the peak wind speed was at 5:36 AM at 29 mph. I guess that was the burst that shook my house? Seems about right. Still am pretty freaked but I think it's dying down a bit. Or maybe I'm just hoping it is.
