Owwie...
I have a large bruise on my right hip and I have no idea how it got there. I accidentally brushed against something tonight and it erupted into pain... T_T I hate mysterious bruises... I don't know how I seem to always walk into things or why I seem to bruise so easily but having the two of them in combination with each other kinda sucks. *sigh*
So I spent today filling in for my mother at the restaurant because my grandmother decided she wanted to live with us and not my uncle so she had to go and pick her up. I ended up spending most of the time playing Rune Fantasy because it was not busy at all. That game has absolutely captivated me. You're this guy who has amnesia and somehow gets roped into taking care of a farm and you make money by growing crops, fishing, and mining in the caves. And these caves are inhabited by these monsters (animals to us, although some of them are humanoid) who will try to kill you on sight. But if you tame them, they'll work on your farm and some of them provide products like eggs and milk. After finishing Viva Pinata, I wanted another game to fill its place and after a short jaunt with Time Hollow, I switched over to Rune Factory and now have totally gotten sucked in. It's because of it that I didn't get all that much sleep last night... I'm so desperate to upgrade my house (I need 1000 pieces of wood and 200,000g, so damn much... T_T) so I can buy a kitchen and a double bed so I can woo the girl of my choice and get married. So far, I think my character is in love with Felicity even though I wanted to get with Tori (the bookworm!) and even though my guy is good personal friends with the girl that runs that bath house... This is all because I accidentally asked the wrong girl out on a date and now that girl is crushing on me! :\
Oh, well, in other news, Kent called me up today and told me he's sworn on children and will never teach because children are hell's spawn. I totally agree! Although, I think if you are patient enough, you can get to kids. Still, Kent's little jaunt into tutoring kids has left him questioning having children in his life, something I find awfully amusing. Oh my poor parents, they're so not getting any grandchildren...
And I found out something new from my dad today -- he think my sister's boyfriend is a drunk from a family of drunks and is afraid he'll get drunk and hit my sister. Awesome. And totally unfounded and more or less ridiculous. Just because he drinks alcohol and his parents drink alcohol doesn't mean a guy is bad or will go crazy and abuse their girlfriend. I think it's just that they own a restaurant with a bar so they see all the crazy drunks and are a bit paranoid about the whole drinking thing, especially since they're not drinkers at all. It's not even the occasional drink with them -- it's more like the once a year not even that at times drink. And I don't think their kids (at least I'm not) are heavy drinkers either but I suspect both my sister and brother drink socially. Hopefully they don't overdo it but with Kent's protestations about how nasty alcohol is and how he doesn't get why people drink, I'm not so sure they drink all that much. My brother is underaged but that doesn't really stop teenagers now, does it? And he's at college and god only knows people drink like crazy even as freshmen. Diana however, has not said anything about that aside from her saying she doesn't drink so who knows? For all I know, it's their way of pushing suspicion off of them -- my brother with the good reason and my sister with the denial. Who knows?
Anyway, I'm off to play Rune Factory. It's coming on my first winter and I want to be able to beat the second cave before the end of my first year here. Hopefully the waters won't freeze because fishing is one of my main sources of income... And I really want that expanded house! I'm gonna be so broke afterwards so I want to have an extra money cushion so hopefully I won't die during the winter.
