My feeling towards this? NO!

I don't like how CBS is pigeonholing themselves as the procedural cop show channel. Sure they work but I don't like it. I want something more from CBS, my beloved TV channel who's drawn my interest with their awesome shows ever since I was small... I can't even count how many TV series I've fallen in love with that have been aired on that channel...

I love NCIS, I really do. It's probably the show I look forward to the most during the week (followed closely by Top Chef) and I'm glad it's doing so well this season. It's a good season so I get it. I cried so hard during yesterday's episode and it was indicative of what I love about NCIS.

But a spin off? I'm not sure how that would work. I mean NCIS is a spin off themselves of my long beloved JAG. *sigh* I do love the Navy and men in uniform and even if the NCIS officers aren't Naval ones, they still associate with them and I do an internal squeal each time I see a uniform.

TV is so volatile right now. I feel like every show I'm watching is being cancelled or in flux... My Own Worst Enemy is axed, so is Eli Stone and SGA... What's worth watching anymore? Merlin has only three episodes left and then that's over and despite the sheer amount of fanfics popping up on my flist from the [livejournal.com profile] merlinxarthur community, I'm not feeling the majority of them. The fandom is still too new, the stories are still too short and what I really want is something long to sink my teeth into.

I don't know, maybe this NCIS spin off won't be that bad. I mean look at how well NCIS did. I just hope this doesn't mean NCIS will be ending any time soon. With it's great ratings, it really shouldn't. My love will always be with it first so I hope nothing happens to it after it gets spun off.
