The first episode of Beyond the Realm of Conscience is seriously heart-breaking... I was wondering how it could trump Born Rich but now that I've seen it, I totally get it. Born Rich is the typical TVB drama where tons of money was thrown at it so they could have flashy cars, huge mansion homes, tons of jewelry and the opportunity to film in a foreign locale. But while the story some what intrigues me, it also somewhat bores me as well. And offends me a bit -- pretending to be a dead man so you can swindle his dead family? Making the woman you love go through a crisis because she thinks she's falling for her half brother? Seriously, who does that?

But Beyond the Realm of Conscience made me bawl. I couldn't stop crying or sniffling and if the first episode is anything to go by, I have a feeling this series is going to be an emotional roller coaster and while I don't particularly like constant backstabbing and conniving women who are possibly evil that's associated with stories involving the imperial family/court, I'm still going to watch it. The little kid friendship between the future emperor and the little servant girl is so cute! Foreshadowing! ^^ (even though I'm still overcome and I just want to go T_T instead...)
