Jan. 19th, 2010 02:39 amI think... I got food poisoning from tonight's dinner. :( I spent half an hour contemplating death and never eating anything ever again on the toilet but thankfully after huddling under the covers of my bed, I'm starting to feel even keel again.
And now I'm editing my Nanowrimo story. The one I haven't finished. The one where I wasn't allowed to delete anything and therefore was stuck with a completely unacceptable last scene that stalled my writing. But now I can, yay. It's not that it's a bad scene -- it's just that at that point in the story, it needed to come much much later. So I'm going to advance the plot and hope the relationship works out around it. But it's a bit hard when your plot and the romance story don't intersect until much later in the story. Until then, hopefully many but subtle clues. Yeah, I'm not quite sure if it'll work out yet.
But editing the first part of the story makes me feel good. It's more rewriting as I've realized everything written could be condensed and reworded but it's going okay... So far, I've only gotten rid of about 300 words but hopefully by the end, it'll be down to about two-thirds it's original size. Hopefully. I'm doing it piece by piece in hopes that I won't get stalled on on particular part but we'll have to see how that turns out.
In between that, I'm watching Life Unexpected. First, OMG, it's set in PORTLAND! How cool is that?! First Leverage (though filmed in Portland, they still say it's Boston -- boo) now Life Unexpected! I've only seen 10 minutes of it but I'm already hopeful. If anything, I can just go and say "hey, I know where that is!" so even if it fails as a show (I'm cautious on that front since I haven't seen the entire pilot yet), I'll have that.
