You know, once upon a time ago, I was good at ripping DVDs. Obviously in the last two years when I stopped ripping, I've lost that skill.

It took me absolutely forever to figure out why my rip of the DVD of Galaxy Kiss wasn't working AT ALL. For some reason, it would always fuck up on the PV for Dive into the Heart. First I thought it might be the fact that it was a new computer (compared to the old one where I did all my ripping) where I had software that would make all DVDs region free but after I fixed that nasty problem, it still wasn't working. Then I realized I was trying to rip all four angles of it (since it's a multiangle version of the PV) into one file and that was making it all weird.

Finally, I settled for ripping each of the angles separately, which incidentally hit me with a huge sense of deja vu. I've definitely done this before. And since back then I generally ripped everything of Kimeru's to put online, I have little doubt that once upon a time I knew how to rip and have just forgotten it all.

Still, I'm not quite content with having to rip everything separately... I wanted it all in one large file... But in order to do that, I suspect I would have to rip four huge files, each of them with a different angle plus the other PV and the live performance. But since two two wouldn't change, it seemed silly to do it that way so I guess I should be content with how it is right now.

But damn, how nostalgic is this DVD! And CD! Man, I was so in love with Kimeru back then... I'm rewatching this DVD for the first time in years and in the first angle, I swear I saw the back of [livejournal.com profile] hinoai. Her distinctive long red hair is hard to mistake after all... I wonder if I made that same observation back when I first watched it as well?
