Sep. 17th, 2010 05:21 pmThe British Consulate has FINALLY issued Kent's visa!!! They say it should get delivered by today but seeing as I just saw the UPS truck drive away (!!), I'm just hoping against god that they'll pick it up today and it'll get delivered by Monday. PLEASE, GOD, LET IT BE DELIVERED BY MONDAY!!
I mean, geez, he's already late for the start of the school year... If it gets here Monday, he'll be able to fly Tuesday and get to England by Wednesday and still possibly attend Wednesday's classes. But it gets picked up on Monday, it'll get here Tuesday and then the soonest he'll be able to fly is on Wednesday and with the time it takes to fly there and the loss of eight hours, he'll get there Thursday and already be four days late to the start of the school year.
This whole mess is so fucked up. The British Consulate in LA? SUCKS BALLS. Want a visa? Better give yourself at least a month because their quote of 5-15 business days is WRONG. Seriously, anyone who is even thinking about studying abroad in England, I would say rethink it. Or get your visa from anywhere but the LA office. Seriously, incompetent.
And Kent's just been deflated through this whole ordeal... He was supposed to fly on Wednesday but had no passport because the Consulate was holding it hostage with no way of contacting them. He tried canceling the visa to get his passport back but no luck there because they apparently are so backed up, who even knows when his visa cancellation package will be opened. For god's sake, their mailroom was so full, USPS couldn't even deliver the package on the first try! :(
Please, god, please, please, please let this work out... I really, really, really hate seeing my little brother so down and depressed (not to mentioned getting a ton of flack from overly judgmental Chinese parents who can't pass up this opportunity to just snipe on him constantly...). It's so incredibly fucked up in my family right now... The mood of everyone is just bad... :(
