Dec. 1st, 2010 03:10 amGlee thoughts:
First, the non-spoilery stuff, made before tonight's episode (Special Education 2x09).
Some thoughts on Blaine and Blaine/Kurt fans...
Things that bother me:
bb -- what does this mean and why do I feel like it's patronizing and diminutive?
Sweet/Thank [Grilled] Cheesus -- I'm not even Christian (and lean towards anti-Christian) but even I'm offended on their behalf
Gaga forbid -- just WTF?
Blaine/Kurt fics set in Dalton -- feel so unrealistic to me... *sigh* Wes and David can't be that awesome and the way they're made out to be Blaine's bffs is weird. And the crazy, completely fanon created Luke just came out of nowhere but somehow he's in most of the fics. Why???
So much caps lock... Not to mention intentional misspelling of words -- I mean, "guise"? I just don't understand why.
( Now the spoilery stuff... )
BICO is supposed to next week. I'm hoping it'll make me like the Blaine/Kurt pairing a bit more. I hate the song and I can't even say the Blaine and Kurt version makes me like it any more... *shrugs* But how can any two people sing that song and not have it suggesting a relationship between them? Unless it's part of some sort of production, play, class assignment? *shrugs* I don't know. Hopefully next week's episode won't suck. So far, none of the episodes this season has really satisfied me, not even Never Been Kissed... I was looking so forward to this one and it still felt like it fell short...
I am looking forward to seeing more of Dalton and the Warblers! I want to see them become real people instead of those idealized fanon created OCs. Hell, Blaine is still mostly Darren and I'm more interested in the characters, not their actors. If I were interested in the relationship between the actors, I would read RPS and those that know me, know that is up there with incest on my squick list. As in, I can count on one hand how many RPF I've ever read in my life and I've never had one that felt right to me. And I always emerge from them feeling I had committed some sort of morally wrong act... It's just not worth the guilt.
edit x1: Okay, reading the comments for the episode at
kurt_blaine does not inspire any hope that I will be reading realistic Dalton fic any time soon. *rolls eyes* Seriously, why are they upset that these people are real? And human? I find reading about perfect people rather boring -- I can't be the only one, right??? OTL
edit x2: Why do I do this to myself every week? I should really stop reading those episode comments made during the episode... They just leave me with such a bad impression of Blaine/Kurt fans... Or maybe it's because they're so into Kurt and I'm not really that I end up thinking they're...what's a good word? Everything that comes to mind is so negative... :(
You know, anime fans tend to ruin anime for me so I actively tried not to watch any anime around them. Maybe it's the same way with Glee? Glee fans will ruin Glee for you? Seriously, I don't know anymore. I'm just watching for Blaine and the performances now anyway...That's part of the problem, I guess. I want good Blaine fic but most of it is so forgettable... How can I adequately adore him without good fic?
edit x3: Last thoughts before going to AE. I just had an idea -- when Kurt goes back to McKinley and if he asks Blaine to go with him, I would love to see Blaine go WTF because Dalton is an uber awesome private school with great academics and one would have to be insane to leave it to go an American public school. Also, because I'm pretty sure tuition isn't refundable. Not to mention the fact that Blaine seems to get solos at Dalton and that leaving a school in your senior year is so not cool.
And oh my god, sane people on the comm! Thank god! I was starting to despair a bit... There's hope at the end of the tunnel...hopefully some of them write fic and it will be good and realistic rather than just hate on Dalton that I'm feeling from the vast majority of everyone else. I'm almost scared to try out some of the fic that stems from this episode since I think they're going to be about converting Blaine or making ND super awesome in comparison to what they think is super bad Dalton. Kurt's way isn't the only right way and people seriously need to give Dalton a chance... :\
