So full...

I went and made hummus from scratch today... Even made the tahini myself, as much of a bitch that was. But it turned out so well! It's incredibly smooth, something I didn't think was possible since I made in a blender and not a food processor. But it's consistency is perfect! I wish I hadn't gone as crazy as I did with the olive oil though -- it's a little more oily than I would like and I probably shouldn't have been so heavy-handed with the paprika... Especially since I drizzled olive oil and paprika on top of the hummus after I was done. :\

Next time, I'll use more of the liquid the garbanzo beans were in and less of the oil... And I'll up the garlic and not put as much tahini since I ground about 1/8 of a cup of sesame seeds and used it all... The flavor of sesame is really prevalent and I'm not exactly a lover of that flavor. Still, now I know it's possible to make it from scratch! Next batch will hopefully be even better. ^^

I did use canned garbanzo beans though. I'm lazy -- I don't have time to cook dried chickpeas -- it would take forever and this is hummus we're talking about! I barely let it rest to let the flavors "meld," there's no way I can wait that long for them to cook!

I ate about half of it...And now I'm incredibly full. What am I going to do with the rest of it...? I heard it doesn't keep well... :( But I doubt I can eat it all since I'm pretty sure it's the equivalent of eating one huge tub of hummus. If only I had someone to share this with...
