The last time I listened to a song was on February 5th at 12:48 AM.
That's about the time time when I got into Jeremy Lin.
Yup, I've been absolutely captivated by him. To say he brings out all the proud feelings is an understatement. I keep waiting for this magical run to die but so far, it hasn't. I was sure during the Minnesota game that the Knicks were sure to lose and they ended up finding a win in that. And I thought they played even worse tonight against the Toronto Raptors but Jeremy just ended up elevating his legend to even higher heights. I didn't even think that was possible! o.O
My jaw dropped when I saw that buzzer beater 3 pointer. I mean, oh my god... And then I couldn't believe it actually happened but damn, that boy can play!! He still managed 27 points (how did that even happen? He was missing so many shots!) and 11 assists and I just can't believe the sort of gumption he had to make that last shot. I mean, it was supposed to be a pick and roll but he waved off Chandler and he asked D'Antoni for an iso and he ended up giving it to him! And then he waved everyone else off and waited until the last possible moment to make that shot. It was all or nothing because there would be no time for Chandler to tip it in or get the rebound and make another shot. It was either they won, or they go to overtime. I was for sure they were going to overtime so when it actually went in, I went INSANE. And Jeremy looked so self-satisfied, as though he knew he would make it without any doubt.
That is one of the worrying things about him that I'm a bit scared of. He does have a fair amount of confidence in himself that sometimes you can tell he wants to have the ball and get points, even when maybe he could pass the ball to someone more free. And with the way the teams are locking him down, double teaming him and trying to force him left (I think everyone and their mothers know he only goes to the right now), we're seeing a hell of a lot of turnovers. And they're always so stupid and gut wrenching... I don't like a selfish ball handler so I hope he gets that under control.
But tomorrow is a perfectly winnable game against the Sacramento Kings and then it's New Orleans on Friday which is the biggest given thus far. Has New Orleans won against anybody this year? The game to watch though is the first of Sunday's triple header with the Dallas Mavericks. I doubt the Knicks can win but there's still lots of hope. I mean, we'll have Carmelo back (which I personally think will only be a good thing), it's a home game, and it's bound to be a sold out crowd that's all screaming "MVP" at Jeremy Lin. And if they play as badly as the Lakers did last Sunday, I think there's still a shot. It's really too bad it's at 10 AM. T_T Sure, for the East Coast it's the much more manageable 1 PM, but here on the West Coast? 10 AM on a Sunday is bad. I'm not even awake at that time normally! But I guess I'll be setting an alarm for that game...
I was going to talk a bit about Glee from tonight since it also helped propel me into such a happy mood (which is amazing since I'm PMS'ing like crazy and on a hair trigger, very prone to shouting normally) but Jeremy just kinda took over this entire post. Oh well, maybe tomorrow?
But then again, Jeremy might do something even more amazing tomorrow against Sacramento and then I'll be screwed... Damn, there are way too many games in the NBA, even in this shortened season.
