Apr. 13th, 2012 06:14 amYou know, I'm not a fan of how LJ is doing its LJ cuts now. I mean, seriously, "✂..."? What the hell is that? Some scissors and an ellipsis? Why the ellipsis? Are most people even knowledgable enough to know what it freaking means and why it's there? It's confusing and I don't like it.
And it's not just because it's change and I dislike change, though I can't deny that's part of it. I mean, I really liked how LJ cuts were before all this scissors nonsense. I liked how it looked and the fact that it was aesthetically pleasing. The parenthesis separate it from the rest of the text so you know what it is immediately, and the fact that they were bold meant it it was easy to spot as you scroll down the entries. This scissor thing is way too easily lost and the LJ cut text ends up looking like just a regular link. There's no definition from the rest of the entry and I really don't like that. Do I have to put in my own parenthesis now? Is there any way I can make them go back? I really wish whenever LJ implemented these unilateral changes, they would at least give us the option of keeping things the way they were so all of us who hate it, aren't forced to live with it.
I mean, geez, look at Facebook and their crappy timeline. I still can't find anything on my own profile anymore! How is that a change for the better? To me, it's getting as confusing as finding something specific on tumblr... :\
