Jul. 27th, 2012 12:57 pmThank god for livestreams.
Otherwise, I would have to wait until 7:30 PST to watch a taped delay version of the London Olympics Opening Ceremony...
Just in case you're wondering, I'm using this livestream: http://www.thefirstrow.eu/watch/132385/3/watch-london-olympic-games-2012,-opening-ceremony.html Hopefully it doesn't get closed down...
It's still about 20 minutes away from starting so it's a lot of Olympics stories at the moment... Oh, my god, they actually did the green fields with sheep! I thought Jon Stewart was kidding! Oh my god, seriously? Geez, it seemed so ridiculous that I thought it had been a bit but I guess not...?
I might be biased but Beijing's Opening Ceremony was really *_*
I realize London probably doesn't have as much money to wow the world with (or the desperate desire to show the world they're perfect and amazing) but still... The green countryside field thing will go away once the ceremony starts, right? Right?
Anyway, I'll be watching this for the next couple of hours, then I'll watch the NBC version of it since I really do want the American perspective. I'm rooting for the American athletes after all, and this is where it all starts in getting the general public (i.e. me) informed on the stories behind them. But it is nice watching the history of the Olympics in England. I'm not sure we will touch on it (so very sad) so I'm glad I'm learning about it.
I'm working with very little sleep (five hours in the last two days?) though, so it's hard for me to concentrate. Hopefully the beauty of it will penetrate my comatose brain... God, I hope I'm coherent right now. I just realize I'm probably not flowing all too well. But then again, it's not like I flow very well in these entries even when I'm not exhausted... :\
If nothing, at least I discovered a new song... It was playing during a montage, something by Wilco (I don't even know who he/they is/are) and seemed really easy to listen to so I'll be checking that out later, if I don't pass out during the ceremony...
