Aug. 23rd, 2012 04:56 pmIs it possible to be trolled via fanfic? Because I saw this post last night, and it was of a short drabble type of fanfic and the way it's written and formatted makes me think it was all done to troll the comm it was posted in.
And given that it was a Kurt/Blaine comm, well, Glee fans are insane and this seems like something in their alley.
At first, I thought it was just a badly written story. I mean, just the header sent up major red flags. Grammar problems, spelling mistakes, inappropriate capitalization, you name it, this fic's got it. And some writers are that unpolished. I personally don't think those writers should be posting their fic before running it through a spell check and a beta (or at the very least, just the spell-check) but that's just me. Some people do post bad stories like that all the time. But then there was the fact that it wasn't under a cut. And the formatting. It was italicized for a good 2/3 of the fic, then it switches to normal font, and then here and there would be more italicized sentences.
It still could have been a legitimate piece of fiction. Bad, but still...
And then I saw it today, with comments. Not one person mentioned how badly it's written. Okay, I get that, nobody wants to just bash a fic. A few people mentioned the LJ-cut issue. And this is how she responds: "I Would Love TO!, But Alas, I Am Stupid, And Its A Miracle That I Even Posted This Without Burning My House Down."
I kid you not. That's what she wrote, verbatim.
I can't help but feel like there's an anti-Klaine fan out there who is laughing her head off right at this moment... I mean, there's no way this person can be serious, right? It's so trollish! But then there's a part of me that wonders because maybe this person is like ten or eleven years old and is actually completely serious and just thinks it's cool to write the way she writes. But the other part of me thinks somewhere someone is laughing at how stupid Klaine fans are to even take such a badly written story and praise it... *sigh*
