Nov. 16th, 2012 07:37 pmI do enjoy deals...at Starbucks and anywhere else for that matter. Starting yesterday, they have buy one get one free holiday drinks so I went and got two caramel brulee lattes. Generally, I like to use these to try new drinks that sort of thing, but I've tried pretty much all of them by now. The only one missing is the eggnog but I really don't like the taste of eggnog... And I really liked the caramel brulee lattes from last year...
I could have gotten both, but I wanted to bring one to my Dad who was idling in boredom, waiting to get his tires rotated and I really wanted to have a caramel brulee latte and I didn't want to be stuck with something I might not like, and my Dad would never drink the eggnog so two caramel brulees. It was good. So good. Better than that Starbucks generally is, which is ironic because I waited like 10 minutes for those drinks and it tasted better than when I get it pretty much immediately. So I didn't regret my decision at all. And apparently my Dad had already been guzzling coffee at the tire place so the drink ended up with my Mother.
The whole tire thing was a bust. Apparently everyone decided to walk-in, getting their tires switched over to snow tires today so they got slammed. They said we could pick up the car at 7 PM but they close at 6 PM, we went back at 7 PM, they were closed, we couldn't pick up the car. Isn't that the way it always works out?
The weird thing was that they called us at 6:30 to tell us we could pick up the car, but they were already closed by then... I wonder if they mean we can pick it up tomorrow? But they didn't say tomorrow, so I don't know. Anyway, it's a good thing they have more than one car, it's a bad thing that one of those cars is out of commission until tomorrow morning. And we'll have to go through this whole thing again. :\
In totally unrelated news, I managed to pull something in my back a few days ago. I was helping my Grandmother and overextended or something and it's steadily getting more painful. Is that supposed to happen? Isn't it supposed to get better? It hurt a lot when I pulled it, and then it kinda faded away for a day and then it started to hurt again. It's a weird, dull sort of pain that twinges every so often to remind me it's still hurting. At least it's not so bad...
And now I've procrastinated completely on my NaNo. I only have about 300 more words to reach the quota and yet, I still can't get motivated to just write them already. *sigh* It's one of those days... I still have time, I know but I just don't wanna. But I will... I can't have one yellow day amongst all those beautifully green ones...
