Nov. 28th, 2012 05:31 amSo it's been live five days since Dynamic Duets have aired and I'm still obsessed with the episode. I realize it was only meant as filler, the throwaway episode because it was Thanksgiving and nobody was going to be watching it anyway (I wasn't even at home when it aired and watched it at like 2 AM later that night) but even so, I haven't thoroughly enjoyed a Glee episode like that in so long. It was fun, the songs were good, the Warblers are awesome and even the lame superhero/comic book theme wasn't enough to take away from how good it was...
And it's given me my favorite Blaine song this season. At first I thought it would be hard to top It's Time from the first episode but Blaine and the Warblers? Instant classic! I can't stop listening to it... Not only that, but Some Nights is one of those great ensemble songs that ends the episode... The Scientist thus far had been my favorite but Some Nights is a good one as well (great Blaine parts in the beginning!). I found myself just listening to My Dark Side has been playing nonstop for the last couple of days for me... And I've been watching the performance with the Warblers over and over again, several times a day. I love how tentative Blaine is at the beginning and uncomfortable and slowly you see him fall back into the role of lead soloist. You could literally see it happening in front of you -- that is the Blaine that I love and the Blaine that I haven't seen since season 2. He is like the God of the Warblers. He could command them and they'll do anything for him -- it's amazing. I wish we saw more of that Blaine in Glee... God, it made me really wish Blaine would transfer back to Dalton...
And not only that, but I finally can see Blaine/Sebastian. That moment when Sebastian says "flawless"? I melted. I read a story recently that talked about Sebastian pining for Blaine and frankly, I've never seen it before until that very moment. I couldn't even really see any attraction there so I've never been much for the pairing but now? Wow, if Kurt and Blaine are over (and frankly, I think they are), then I really wish Blaine and Sebastian would try things out! I never really liked Kurt in the first place and only rooted for the relationship simply because it seemed like Blaine wanted him so I went with that. But if Blaine is free to date others... But I worry that it would never happen because Grant Gustin, the guy who plays Sebastian has been cast as a guest star on 90210 (I stopped watching that years ago, now I wish I had kept up with it if only to see him in this new role and not be totally lost) so he probably wouldn't have much time to be spending on Glee... :\
Okay, enough Glee talk. I just had to gush about My Dark Side and Glee for a bit. Now I'm going to read a fic and turn in. I really should have been either working on my NaNo fic or sleeping but I've been doing neither so I'm probably screwed for tomorrow...
