I Got My First Virus!

sherryillkThat's right, I got my first virus! I was worrying about it a few days ago when I downloaded it...
It came over Yahoo, in the form of a reply. I downloaded it, even though usually I'm more cautious about downloading attachments from people I don't know. So sue me... I was desperate for feedback!
And then when it didn't show up on the comp, I downloaded it again. I did it a total of 3 times. Stupid huh?
By that time I was thinking that something was wrong and it hit me. Virus! Oh my god! I tried not to worry about it until I found out other people had gotten it too and their programs read it as a virus. I check with mine and it said it was clean, but then again I haven't updated that for a while.
I got another email this night and I went onto Norton.com to check it out. Turns out it was a virus and I immediately downloaded the thing to take it off my comp. One file was infected... I hope I'm safe now...
I still however need to restart the computer. I'm lazy and I'm reading a fic so I'll wait till I go to sleep... I mean would it really matter?
