Those who have not seen the GTO Live Action, WHY NOT?!

Ah, I knew it was considered great by a good many fans but I was not prepared at all for how great it was. After watching all 12 episodes of it today, and am working on the drama special now (downloading the Movie!), I've realized that this really has got to be up there on the top dramas I've watched. I'm not quite sure where it falls but definitely it has a definite place in my heart for being a great drama and just being GTO.

For those who have not experienced it, the first episode uploaded to YSI! It's a must watch so I totally recommend it!

GTO Live Action, episode 01: http://s49.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1OCFHY987IVCV144Z3657E4F8U

And the theme song because after watching the entire show, it makes you love it even if you originally didn't.

Takashi Sorimachi - Poison

Also, my favorite instrumental piece:

12. Poison (Slow Version).mp3

In this version, this song sounds so much more beautiful and elegant that it's hard to believe it's the same song that Takashi Sorimachi sang for the OP. But despite that, you feel that it is a part of GTO, the way an OP is inevitably tied to the image of the show it's opening. Wonderful song, I totally recommend it. :)

Is it really that good? I think I sorta started watching it but was still filled with the manga/anime version that I didn't think the live version would work so well. Might as well give it a shot, ne? ^^

Yes, it is that good! It is filled with the anime/manga parts (well it has to), but they take a slightly different stance on the parts that have happened. There's a sort of realism that was lacking in the anime/manga and it's definitely less crass and idiotic than the manga/anime, something I liked a lot. Onizuka is still a bit perverted but not to the same extent and he comes off being mostly a happy, genuinely good guy. It's really sweet and Sorimachi Takashi is also a cuter Onizuka that you would expect. Definitely give it another shot, you won't regret it! ^^

Isn't it, isn't it? I cried too, during that part where they were ripping Onizuka and his students away from each other... T_T IT was just so sad! And I loved the way they ended it -- it's so much better than the anime/manga.

And you're welcome about the song! I finished watching it last night and just had to get the OSTs that came with the show immediately.

^^ I love GTO Live Action. I saw it ages ago and I burned the episodes onto CDs because I liked it so much. :D

Hope you don't mind me nabbing the slow version of the song.

Oh my gosh! I watched it and I'm so downloading the rest! You know what got me going? Remember the poster on Fuyut...damn, that female teacher's wall?? That's the same guy that acted with Takashi in Beach Boys! ><;; Sorry, I get easily amused *lol*
