Now that I've watched it...

I had the urge to change channels about five minutes in... Yeah, apparently still not my show. I wonder if this is partly because I've seen it before. I kept trying to hear for my laughs at odd places or for Kathryn's (my RA who is very enthusiastic) whoops but they were drowned out by everyone else.
Also, the Poll Smoking segment -- taped before. :( It was really funny too but for that period of time, Jon Stewart was talking to his staff and we were watching the taped version of it on the TV screens. Apparently, it's because he did a lot during that one taping and they had to cut parts of it out for later.
They did cut out parts which is a bit surprising and a bit not. I mean I would assume some editing. But really, it's a 30 minute show and they really didn't tape all that much. Oh! Because it was a Wednesday, Jon Stewart also taped the opening for the international (I think it's called Global?) version of The Daily Show.
It was kinda weird hearing him say the things that I heard him say before, stuff I had followed off of his teleprompter. I was sitting in a spot that I could just read it off as he was going through it. It's amazing how it works. And he ad-libs a bit but I guess you can't be funny and exactly correct all the time at the same time...
I was so surprised when they showed the chase! It was the one after the Seat of Heat part -- Al Franken actually chases Jon Stewart around the desk several times before catching up to him and sorta pseudo-attacked him. And then they shook hands and they were all buddy buddy again. It was cute. But they didn't show all of it unfortunately.
The Al Franken part really was as short as I thought it was. He was literally in and out. All they did was that part about the Republican convention, him possibly running for Senate and the Seat of Heat thing and that was like all of it. *shrugs*
Oh, during the Al Franken part, I remember where he was talking about being a racist in Virginia and Steph had the greatest look on her face. Steph is from Virginia of course. It was funny though.
The part with Colbert was really great. They had the posterboard all set up during the break and actually, we had connected with Colbert about a minute or two before they actually did their set. Apparently that was due to some sort of snafu about not synching correctly, but as they were getting ready, Colbert and Stewart chatted on the visit of the Pakistani President from yesterday and I was sad that that wouldn't be aired either. They interact so cutely together! And that was one of the most hilarious parts of the show too. That and the camel. I adored the camel. ^^
Afterwards, we had all talked about how we wished we had been there for the Poll Smoking part of the show. It was seriously nicely done and it was sad that we had to just watch a taped version of it.
Anyway, it was mostly what I remembered.... Short, very to the point... I kinda want to go again, for a cooler guest at least. I had seen Al Franken around and kinda knew of him but I was mostly clueless so it wasn't as cool seeing him as the guest and all. And really, I want to see Stewart again because man, that guy is hot in real life. And he did pysch which is pretty cool too. :)
