I'm a product of the Regents examinations, and let me tell you. Math A and Math B was such a bitch to take. Those tests are totez designed to make you pass but not do incredibly well on. The year I got into high school, they switched the program in NY state over. Before, it was called Sequential blocks--- Seq 1, 2, 3. One was like Algebra, Trig another was Algebra 2, statistics, geometry, and the last was basically pre-calc. Anyway, the Regents system has its ups and downs. The majority of the proponents of it say that it brings everyone onto at least one level of learning that is unitable across all disciplines. The people who dislike it say that teachers teach to the test, and learning becomes one giant search for an A on the regents.
Ohhhhh Strand!!! I love that place. I can't go though... I have too many games and books to read already!
