I know! The ones that study abroad are always the scary ones~~ It's the same for Spanish classes! Those that study abroad really grasp the language... and it makes me want to go to Spain so that I can improve my Spanish.. >_>;;
LOL.. my Physucks professor was just talking about experiments today and how college students love to do them because they're soo poor and how they want money.
So he talks about one terrible experiment called "The Memory Test". The student was placed in a one-way mirror room and could see another student (an actor) taking The Memory Test. And every time the student (actor) repeated the sequence wrong, the doctor (also an actor), would buzz the student and they would get shocked.
So the doctor in the room told the student that the student (actor) taking the memory test wasn't learning from the shock, and asked the student to crank the voltage up to its highest. The student listened, and turned it up.
This study was known as the White Coat Effect. It was to see how far the student would go just because a person (the actor) was dressed in a white coat, an authorative figure, told them to do so. It turns out that the student turned the voltage up high enough to kill the person.
