Shit.

I just found out that p2p programs aren't allowed at NYU. Shit. Does that mean no bittorrent? No KaZaA? What about my Streamload account?

Good news is that the speed of the connect is 10mbps which is good. But what about BT??? Does that mean only Streamload from now on? And also what about mIRC??? I wanna have an fserve just so I can get voiced... All I wanna do is download stuff... It's not like I would leave mIRC on all the time... BT maybe but... Still... :(

I could be wrong about this but I think only BT and Kazaa would count as p2p. mIRC and Streamload should be safe to use. And it's totally inhuman of them to inflict those rules on you!

But how will they know, anyway? Kazaa Lite has some excellent options for staying hidden... If you don't install it into Program Files and don't leave any obvious traces, like Kazaa icons etc, it shouldn't be a problem.
