I'm obsessed with this song. OBSESSED. With all the Amazon MP3 credits I've been racking in lately, I had about $20 to spend. I was trying to find new indie bands to get into. It's been a while since I last found a band I really liked but I went through Amazon's Best of 2012 (so far) list, and this was like first on the list.

This song hooked me on first listen. It's just a fun song to listen. The voices are so distinct (probably because they're Icelandic) and they just sound so cute together... One of the things that stuck with me was the "hey's" that run through the song. It's so interesting because the other band that I got into at the same thing, the Lumineers, one of their songs is called "Ho Hey" (which I also adore) which has "ho hey" running through their song. They're both great songs but they're pretty different. The Lumineers have much more of a folk sound to them (which I find is kinda my thing when it comes to indie music) and I'm not really sure how to describe Of Monsters and Men except they're very unique. But both are quality bands so if you're into indie music, I'll suggest you try them out.

Of the two songs though, I think I like Little Talks a bit more. It's just so energetic. And fun. And so easy to listen to. I just want to be happy listening to it. It's like, it should be chaos since there's so much sound happening but somehow it works so well. Easily my favorite song on the album.

Haha, I also love both of these songs - I put my awesome local music public radio (www.wyep.org) on streaming while I'm at work and then make Spotify playlists of all the songs I find, and both of these have featured lately. Another sort of cheery song that has been popping up lately is "Colors" by April Smith and the Great Picture Show - I think I listen to radio more than I watch tv nowadays, much more satisfying and commercial free!

I love Spotify! At first I was using Pandora a lot to find new groups to get into but then I really wanted to listen to some songs over and over again so I've moved more towards Spotify in the last couple of months. Internet radio has got to one of the best inventions ever.
