Well, I just got back from sending my DVD back to where it came from so I could get the DVD that I was supposed to get...

As I was walking down to Staples to get a bubble mailer envelope, I thought about how the New Yorkers seemed to have developed jaywalking into an art. I'm just a transplantee who has only been here for a few months so I don't have it quite down yet...

It scares me... I come to a crosswalk and I stop if there's a red light and look at the incoming traffic. I see a car coming and I go eek and I stop and I watch the other people around me walk ahead.

Sometimes I'm brave and I come to a red light and I take a glance at the cars without stopping. I think there's enough time for me to cross and I take a hesitant step out. There's a small pause as I rethink it but then I feel determined and confident and plunge forward, hoping I wouldn't die from this action.

I'm still working on it... Jaywalking was never something I had to exercise in Hood River...

While I was walking back from the post office, I saw this balloon flying the air and it was rapidly dropping. I followed it with my eyes, wanting to see it fall as I have only see helium balloons float up and away but never down. This was my chance to see it fall.. The wind blew it left and it was still dropping but then it ascended. And it kept on ascending... I felt disappointed that I couldn't see it fall... :( Soon it had flew up and away so far that I couldn't see it any more and I decided to go inside my dorm at that point. I had spent too much time watching something stupid.
