Even Crazier
Jan. 8th, 2005 04:25 amI have totally gone absolutely gone nuts.
I have the strangest craving for some taro root cake and I've hunted down a recipe for it online. And I think I'll actually try it out when I get back to New York.
And in searching for my taro root cake recipe, I've decided that I must do the turnip cake too because these two cakes go together. I must have some...
Which does remind me... I do remember my mother buying some daikon for turnip cakes... I wonder when they're gonna make it... I'm only here for another week or so, so they better make it soon. I really want to eat some turnip cake.
The recipe for the taro cake is a little too elaborate for my tastes so I'll be chucking out the ingredients: dried scallop and dried mushrooms. My family has never done it with those so I don't intend to either. And I'll probably replace the Chinese bacon (lop yuk) parts with the dried Chinese sausages (since it's very rare that we use lop yuk since my family isn't a big fan of it). And I'll be adding in scallions because what is a savory Chinese cake without lots of yummy scallions?
Anyway, aside from that, snow finally has fallen in Hood River!!! We've had a first snow (that stuck) and there's probably about 2 inches on the ground. Yay!
My siblings are damned pissed the snow came too late for them to get a snow day or a delay but I am happy none the same. :)
I'm glad I braved the snow and ice to get the mail though.
Eunice, your package finally came!!! :)
And yes, I do still like Ken Hirai. I absolutely adore the CD (his latest one, KYA!!!) and the DVD was good too. His LIVEs are so much different from Kimeru's... I couldn't help but compare their difference in quality and scale... But somehow, I still do love Kimeru's DVD more and his LIVEs seem so much more personal than Ken's.
Anyway, THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!! I love them a lot. :) And now you won't have to subject me to hours of the Venus PV. :)
And your letter was great. I didn't even remember sending you all those songs back then... *laughs* Ah, so much has changed since then. But I'm glad you stumbled onto my LJ. It's been really fun having some LJ friends who actually share my interests. :)
