Small things...
Apr. 3rd, 2005 12:06 amAh, I've realized I have fat fingers while trying to fold tiny stars... My stars are inconsistent... At first I was gonna get shiny paper strips but they were a bit too expensive... I should have realized this but...
I think I've gone past the 2000 star mark. I finished a thousand this last week (yay, industrious me!) and I had probably close to a thousand before... Anyway, I'll be counting today...
At first, I was thinking about cutting down the number of stars... 10,000 really is a lot and there are no guarantees that we'll be able to find a jar that big...Not to mention star paper is sooo expensive. But I've decided to be smart about this. Make smaller stars. So, I have some rather odd stars in my collection. Some are shiny, some are not, some are holographic, some are not, and some are big and some are rather small. Despite their lack of uniformity, I think 5,000 of them (on my part only) will still bring about a rather awe-inspiring reaction.
Oh, on an unrelated note: I saw a set of 1000 stars being sold on eBay for $18. I could buy paper for them and make them for under $10. Just a thought. Besides, the sincerity is in making them yourself and giving it to the person you like...
I was making them during my spare time on Spring Break and the other people teased me for it. We had a lot of Asians in our group and they understood the sentiment... And they thought Kimeru was cute too! We had a brief Kimeru DVD watching moment where they all marvelled at him and I just sorta sat there and beamed as I folded stars. :)
And I've been told I'm an amateur for using scissors. She retracted it later after she tried my paper and realized they can't be torn. LOL. I'm kinda inconsistent with the whole tearing thing. If I'm lazy and don't have scissors handy, I'll tear. Which is most of the time. But I also love straight edges, even if they can't be seen...Yes, I am anal.
And also, I was told, that a true Asian girl knows how to fold a crane, a star and a turtle... I'm afraid I've never learned about turtles... ^_^;;; And my cranes are apparently not the right kind of crane... T_T So, Sherry will endeavor to learn how to fold a turtle and a proper crane...
Just found instructions on the crane. It's just like my crane only with a couple extra folds... Personally, I like my cranes better... But the turtles... They involve scissors! So complicated... :\
Ah, the pope has died. I'm not Catholic or religious in any sense (agnostic leaning towards atheist) but still, I admired the man and can't help but think it's a sad thing to see him go... I hope he's at peace and that the person who replaces him is as good of a man as he was. It's a bit like after Clinton's presidency -- how do you follow up after a good man like that? Will he bring new life or great harm? Hopefully it's the former and not the latter...
I've been trying to find Ueto Aya's song "Ai no tame ni" and Hiromi's "Ace wo Nerae!" but with no luck. :( I've requested Ueto Aya's song on Neko but who knows if they'll come through for me... I am really enjoying the show though. I really wish JTV had released more than two episodes of it though...It's just not enough.
But what is really getting me right now is Beautiful Life. It's really a good drama and I can see why people like it. I'm so caught up in it... It doesn't even seem like a drama... It's like watching a movie really... I know she's gonna die but right now I'm really enjoying it.
And I was able to find the theme's mp3! I was a bit surprised as I had such rotten luck with the Ace wo Nerae songs... Thankfully, I found it on this one website that had posted it back in 2003 and never bothered to update after that. And thankfully the links still work!
So yeah, good song. It's sung by B'z and it's called Konya Tsuki no Mieru oka ni. Very nice song that really does grow on you. And it helps if you like B'z, which I do.

Ah, bad news! The average grade from the Chem exam was a 68.9. Ouch... I'm scared now. Very, very, very scared. That's not good at all.... :(
edit x1: Ah, when the theme song is turned into an instrumental that's done by the piano, it comes out really beautiful! I want Konya Tsuki ni Mieru oka ni in piano, instrumental form! I wonder if Beautiful Life has an OST...
I'm hungry... :( But I want to avoid the midnight snacks... I'm going to get even fater than I even am...
And when the theme is used in the show, played prematurely -- also very good! Melike!
My hall is being stupid again. They're running down the hall, screaming, yelling and banging on the walls. And I can hear them down in the courtyard too... :\ My roommate is asleep but I am definitely not and will not be for a while. Which should be good. :)

edit x2: You know, I am quite aware that the last episode of Beautiful Life is going to be sad and that she is going to die. But right now, in the early episodes of the series, I really wish they wouldn't bring it up so often. It's like an underlying sadness -- that you know there won't be a happy ending no matter what you do. And it's not like you can escape it since they allude to it at the end of every single episode. But I'm onto the next episode. God, I love Streamload and their speeds.
