As much as that sounds absolutely heavenly to me right, I really wish it WEREN'T SO! We only have reading day and then exams start right after it. I'm a bit put out. I'm upset that some universities, people get reading WEEK while we're stuck with our lousy day. *cries* And not only that, the only time to view our third midterm is tomorrow at 10 AM so I have to go in for two hours anyway. *makes a face* I know I won't be awake before it (major studying tonight! Must get through Desplan and Gunsalus which is a LOT and I was and continue to be stupid... T_T) and after it will be review of Schiccitano... *makes a worse face* Ugh, it's sad that this week, with only MolecCell to worry about is worse than next week with my three finals (with two on the same day too).

I don't know why but my body woke up around 7 AM and refused to get up. It took me a bit to realize I had an hour of sleep to get but by the time I was awake enough to recognize that fact, I was too awake to really fall back into sleep readily. So it too me a bit to do that. :(

I had a revealation last night as I tried to fall asleep (which also took longer than usual T_T) -- the first episode of Major, season 2 is out! Yatta! When I woke up today, I immediately hit l33t-raws, but alas, no Major 2. I nearly cried. But, all hope is not lost -- it was on SaiyaMan! Yay for SaiyaMan! I'm getting it now and even though I probably won't be able to watch it today, it still something to celebrate about. ^^

edit x1: Major is good, still! I'm shocked by the new developments but I know it'll right itself out... I'm sad that Sawamura is captain of the soccer team now... I want to see him as a baseball player but I don't think he will be... :( It seems he won't be playing in this... *sniffs* I will miss Sawamura! All these new people -- only Goro and Komori left on the team... *cries* It's so sad!

I'm kinda surprised at how much I picked up watching the raw (had no idea the sub was out OTHERWISE I would I would have SO gotten it instead)... I didn't understand all of it but I got the general idea. I was happy. ^^

Now, study-max! Must must must go through everything tonight or else!

Oh, and this potential strike -- annoying me even more now. If I'm forced to WALK from Water to Silver, I'll be pissed. So I hope it never happens!

MTA Strike

This year is just strike happy isn't it? The grad students are still out and now this MTA strike... *shakes head* I seriously will upset if it goes through and come Friday all the transit workers are striking. Subways will be down. Buses out of the question. The traffic -- hell. Now even the taxi drivers are saying that they might stay out of this so less taxis as well.

I'm not even sure if leaving Water on the 7 AM bus (providing it leaves on time) will even make it there... It's a half an hour walk from Water to NYU. It's at 7 AM. I will freeze to death, I think. That kinda of weather, that early in the day, for half an hour? A person can get frostbite!

And as luck will have it, it's supposed to rain on Friday. *cries* It just gets worse and worse...

My professor has already said that if we live within a 20 block radius, we will have to walk. He told people who live near Grand Central to walk the distance! Gah... *makes a face* If I have to walk, and then take that exam, that early in the day, when I walk out of it, I'm going to attack the first MTA worker I see. And as Labrelig was telling me, I'll then end up in jail as the ultimate icing on the cake. So not only will I fail, I'll freeze to death, and end up incarcerated. It's going to be such a great Friday.

This is hell. I seriously hope I'm prematurely overreacting (they still have tomorrow to stop this! I have hope!) but at the same time... :\ I don't know what to do... :\

I heard something funny about it today -- all the money used for terrorism preparation, is now being used for strike preparation. That's nice, isn't it?

I am now eating mini-marshmellows to comfort me as I study.

From The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe OST that [livejournal.com profile] kiyasama so nicely uploaded for me:

02. Evacuating London

This is probably the song that I associate with the title of Narnia as it was playing at the very beginning as the Pevensie children were traveling to the countryside and when the title of the movie was first shown. It's so sad and so haunting and it captures the loneliness, the fear as these children were leaving their homes and their family... At the same time there is an element of wonder and of new beginnings, definitely a good song for the beginning of an adventure as it hints at things to come. I love this song.

05. A Narnia Lullaby

This is another one of my favorites from the movie. It's when Mr. Tumnus was playing his flute, captured Lucy's attention and causes her to fall asleep. It was such a minor detail in the book that I never realized how wonderful it must have been. It's a sad little song, but one that is full of urgency and power. I love the flute or the pipes they used in this and the vocals only heighten the song as it trumpets in the climax of the song. It's a very nice build up of tension. When I saw it in the film, I knew it was wonderful and I couldn't help but hold my breath when I saw the fauns dancing in the fire. It was breath-taking and this track conveys it so well that it just comes all back.

edit x1: Seems as though the instrument in question is a duduk! I had no idea -- I hadn't even known what it was called before looking it up. Definitely a flutey, pipe-type of instrument though.

13. Only the Beginning of the Adventure

This track is exactly as the title proclaims. I think it's one of the more beautiful tracks of this OST and the hope just radiates off of it in waves. I love the instruments in this -- whimsical, light, fun, it's quick, it's soft, it's soothing and it's powerful. It's like spring come early and the wonder one feels on the first day of summer vacation -- full of hope and full of anticipation, with the calming feeling of things being right in the world after a long trial. I imagine this song will nicely represent my feelings at the end of my last final exam. ^^

Last song, but certainly not least as it is my favorite of all the tracks of the Narnia OST: 17. Where - Preformed by Lisbeth Scott

Lisbeth Scott is the same singer who did that one song from The Passion of the Christ but I had never heard of her before that... When I first heard this song, I thought she wasn't American but apparently, she is... She has an amazing voice and this song is so soothing and calming... I have a feeling it's a Christian song (you know how I feel about those :| ) but it doesn't negate the fact that this is beautiful with a touch of sorrow. She reminds me of the Windham Hill songs and of the modern New Age Celtic music (actually, this whole CD reminded me of Celtic music) you see now a days... I could as easily see this song on Celtic Moods (a love that album!).

And the only other song I have to share before I get back to studying is Mr. Children's Seesaw Game. I downloaded this a few nights ago in a batch of Music Stations Top 111 Summer Singles for 2005 and this was #52. It's exactly the type of song that I love to listen to. It's a nice feel-good, happy-go-lucky type of song that I feel is extremely welcoming. It's a song that I can really sway to and can't help but smile while listening to it. It's just a fun song. ^^ I haven't been able to get it out of mind since I've heard it so it's been playing nonstop for a while now.

Try them out, if you all get a chance. ^^

Now, studying! Hox genes, developmental genetics, fruit flies and all that good stuff.

"not all you retards who think he's straight"???

Should I be offended? She's not writing to me, or even with the idea that I am out there reading this... And it's her own personal journal too...

Still... :\ I don't like this statement at all! While I might have entertained the idea that he's gay or bi or whatever, I don't know for sure and it's not totally out of the question that he might be straight... For people reserving judgement, do we fall within this category?
