So it snowed here in Hood River. Not that much but it's the first snow fall I've seen since I've gotten back. It was pretty much snow showers off and on the entire day and I would guess that we had about an inch or so of snow so not really all that much.

However, with the way temperatures have been steadily falling all day, all the roads that have been driven on and have had the snow on them melted, they're all now freezing over. Which makes for some pretty bad driving.

So tonight I had my father drive me back. We were in the dinky old Toyota and we tried driving up 20th Street which to those who don't live in Hood River is a pretty steep hill. It totally didn't work. The car just refused to go up. But instead of switching cars to battle this problem, my dad decided to take 13th Street instead to get to Sherman and that work up until we reach Rand Road. When I saw that the lower part of Rand had been blocked off, I knew we were screwed. The part we needed to go on wasn't closed but it's still somewhat of a hill as well... We tried going up but like 20th Street, it just wasn't going to happen. And then we tried going in reverse back to Sherman but seeing as Sherman makes a little dip right before it meets Rand, it was not as easy going back up as it was going up.

I was pretty freaked out because here we were unable to back up on the road, stuck because the little dip was apparently steep enough for our little car. After a minute or two, my father was finally able to get us up and over and back to Sherman. He then decided to have another go of it and ended up going up on 22nd Street to then come back down to Rand and then to the house. It was a bit of a journey but at least we made it there.

Now I'm concerned about my father... Hopefully he made it back to the restaurant okay... He does have to go down a hill and go back up the same dip that we had to overcome to get back to Sherman... I'm really scared for him and I hope to god that he's already back at home.

I can't say we've ever had this problem before... I mean it's not like we ever had to drive in the snow before. Diana had to do it before but she had her Suburu Outback which is a lot different than our over a decade old Toyota Camry.

Hopefully it'll be better tomorrow... I somehow doubt that since the temperatures are going to stay below freezing for the next couple of days which means not much is going to melt for a while... Hopefully I won't be trapped here tomorrow... I'm not sure I can trust Kent to drive me back but I'll get home eventually I suppose. *shrugs*

Right now I'm enjoying the newest episode of Stargate Sg-1. Daniel has been lost, once again, but I'm hoping that he won't get brainwashed, he won't get killed, and he'll pull off another Spacemonkey type of save. That boy is incredibly when it comes to pulling off the impossible (like coming back from the dead, not one but multiple times). It was a good episode, definitely won over the SGA episode for this week... The Ark, not so much fun this week.

Now that I've fallen in love with Daniel all over again, I'm watching the season 7 episode of Enemy Mine. I love the face that Daniel made when Lorne told him the artifacts have been moved because they were in the way. And Jack's "Daniel, go to your happy place" is simply pure Jack and so wonderful. I love the way the two of them interact... *sigh* I'm going to really miss this show after this year. I just hope everyone lives. And that Earth is not destroyed by the Ori. That's all I want. Hopefully it won't be so terrible that only Sam lives and is able to go to Atlantis because of that. Personally, if anyone were to go to Atlantis, I would think that it would be Daniel because really, who else to go to Atlantis but the foremost expert on the Ancients? But I guess that it would have to Amanda Tapping... Still, I would much rather have Daniel because he's hell of a lot more interesting than Sam is. Well, him and Jack but it's doubtful that will ever happen again. That's a damn shame... *sigh* Oh well, there are always good old episodes to revisit I guess.
