Day at work

So, I went to work today. I'm in the library for two periods on Fridays and I got switched into Ms. Lynch's Humanities class for two more periods followed by a period with Mr. Friedland's Math A. I think it's actually $A or #A or something weird like that and from what I understand, it's stupid Math A or something like that. NY's system of Math is just weird, just like their weird Regents exam things. I seriously don't understand how it's put together at all. I mean normal schools have math like algebra and geometry and that to me makes sense.

Anyway, the second half of the period spent in the library was spent alone. No one came. I seriously hope it's not like that every single week. It makes me feel weird, like I'm not supposed to be there or something like that.

Ms. Lynch's class is okay and I think it'll be okay in her class. It does cut into the time I normally spend with Mr. Friedland, but that's okay. It's not like I really did all that much in that computer class anyway... She seems really nice and the class is not evil so I feel comfortable in that class.

Mr. Friedland's class didn't change. It's nice being there since I don't do anything at all but there's seriously something wrong with his class. I think it's part him and mostly his class that's the problem but thankfully it wasn't so bad.

Afterschool work was...not so much fun. I was alone again. *sigh* But it is a Friday so I do give them that. And I will be working Mondays -- yay for more money (I gain $25 just from working Mondays), T_T for less free time. I must become more industrious over the weekends and manage my time much better from now on. I don't have any more free time in between classes... :( I will be busy every single day now... Monday and Friday until 5 PM and since I have class at 5 PM Tuesdays through Thursdays, it'll be even later than that on those days. And on Wednesday, I have class until 7:30 so that will be...difficult to deal with. *sigh*

That reminds me, I must work on my poster presentation for that freaking class.... Ugh, I haven't even gotten together with any of my group members and who knows when I'll have time to even do anything with them... *sigh* We'll just have to divide it up in parts and we each be responsible for our own parts or something like that.

Tomorrow! I plan to go to sleep sometime around 3 AM tonight, possibly later. Tomorrow I'm going to Strand as a reward for going to work today. It's a reward as a resisted temptation to not to go work and just saying screw it all and not work this semester. But I was good and I did go and because of it, I made $60 just from today alone. Yay! That's worth a book and the new Strand tote, isn't it?

Ever since I saw someone where it, I knew I MUST have it. I've been meaning to buy one of the Strand totes to replace my dying Chamber Leaders book bag... The design is totally dead -- you can't even make out "Hood River County Chamber Leaders" any more and who knows what the design it has any more.

Anyway, I saw the newest Strand tote -- black, with "STRAND" in red and the "A" of Strand as the Japanese character for book -- "hon." It's so totally cool. It's smaller than my old bag but it'll do for classes. Oh! And it has the words "New York City" in small print on the lower left corner. All around, very cute, very stylish, so mine. And I'm going down to Strand to get it tomorrow. And possibly another Haruki Murakami novel -- I've been meaning to pick up Wind-up Bird Chronicle for a while now. I'm so excited -- new bag, new book. Ah, that's enough to get my heart fluttering. ^^

That Strand tote is finally mine! Tell me it isn't awesome!

I think it's pretty awesome. It went off without a hitch. I caught the bus to 14th Street, went and got some money and then hit Strand. I found the tote and my Haruki Murakami novel really easily and I was in and out pretty quickly. I did browse around a bit though -- I couldn't help myself. I checked out the manga and there was this volume of Kare Kano but it was one that I already had so I didn't get it. It was too bad too -- it was volume 16, the last volume that I bought of the series too... I went through the fiction and scifi/fantasy stacks, saw a couple that was somewhat interesting but decided to just stick with The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle only.

I'm so enamored by my new tote. It's perfect, exactly what I wanted. I so love it!!!

Anyway, I went and hit East Village Cheese again. I still have some more of those nasty Stoned Wheat Thins and the only thing I can eat them with is something yummy and strong tasting and Boursin is so that. While I was there, I also picked up some more hummus and some more crackers (I don't have that much of those nasty crackers left -- I have to use the Boursin with something, right?). I also went and got Honest Tea's Heavenly Honey Green Tea. I had their Lori's Lemon Tea which was pretty good so I decided to try their also very highly rated Heavenly Honey Green Tea as well. I found this great review site for drinks called The Beverage Network and it's like amazing. And since I love drinks, I went through it, trying to find something new. I first stumbled on it, trying to find the best Vitamin Water flavor but now I use it for everything. And on it, Honest Tea in the PET bottles were rated really high.

I don't normally like green tea, but this is with a touch of honey to make it a bit sweeter and it is totally organic, and thus a bit more expensive than normal stuff. I had been meaning to try the honey green tea for a while now so when I saw that it was being sold for $1.49 at East Village Cheese, I snatched it up. The place that I got it last time from sold each bottle for $2 so it was a save. I have yet to try it though... I'm a bit afraid to open it up. I've never been a big fan of green tea -- not as it is, not in ice cream nor in Pocky... But this got great reviews so it has to be pretty yummy, right? :\

Okay, some other stuff. First some downloads! These two songs are in Cantonese and are from the HK Pop Star, Alex Fong (also known as 方力申). I saw his latest album up at Jpopsuki and since I'm always out for more Cantonese music, especially from male artists, I went and downloaded it.

The first song on his album was called 在你遙遠的附近 (and is the name of the album, blew me away. First I noticed the piano which I knew Diana would totally squee at. And she did. ^^ Anyway, the piano was good. And then he started singing and I was like, wow, his voice is good. Then I wiki'ed him (I adore Wikipedia! I wiki everything nowadays!) and found out he was the guy I liked from Beautiful Cooking, this fake cooking show that forces cute and beautiful Cantonese stars to try and cook.

The other song I uploaded is 冷靜熱情之間 which sung with also two members of Cookies -- Stephie Tang and Theresa Fu. Diana remarked on the fact that she was surprised that I liked this song because of the whole girl thing but it's normally only girls. Also I do admit that occasionally the addition of a girl vocalist in a song with a guy does ruin a song for me but not always. Here, the girls' voices seemed to match the guy's and the song rather well and it's this happy song too... *shrugs* I liked it, what else can I say?

So, after, I found Alex Fong's songs on Jpopsuki, I decided to see what other Chinese songs were on the trackers so I did a search. And what I wound up with are 南拳媽媽's first two albums! Diana should recognize the name -- they did 香草吧噗 which we were both obsessed about for the longest time. It's always bothered me that it seemed like we always had a rip of the song but now I have real version! Turns out it was the same song so I always did have the real version but at least I know it now. Plus, I have more of their songs! I've always been trying to find more of their songs without any luck and now... I'm totally ecstatic! ^^

Today was a good day. A new book, a cool tote bag, yummy cheese and crackers, a new tea and new songs! I'm totally happy right now. And it's still early! ^^
