Bad day...
Mar. 14th, 2007 07:43 pmMan, when things go wrong, they just seem to all go wrong...
So today, I was awoken by my alarm at 11 AM but I knew exactly at that moment that I really didn't want to waste my one day off and wake up that early... So I reset the alarm for another hour of sleep. So I really woke up at noon. I made myself something to eat so I wouldn't faint at the zoo and then I left.
I had to walk all the way to Park Ave. to catch the bus to the zoo and it was a bit of a wait... I'm used to the M15 bus that comes like every five minutes so it was a bit off putting. But once I was on the bus, it didn't take as long as I thought it would for us to get to 63rd St. Hopstop estimated like 40 minutes and that was what I was expecting but it was under half an hour.
The zoo was...not very fun. I've already been once so that did take away some of the fun. And we started off in the Rainforest section and that place was just so humid and warm and I had to write so much... It wasn't fun. And there was so much walking so I was also getting tired... :\ I got annoyed pretty easily. And to top it off, I wasn't able to find two posters that the worksheet asked questions off of! I even asked one of the keepers and she couldn't find them either! :( I don't know what to do now. There are like seven questions based on those two posters... I can look up some of those questions online but I'm not sure I'll be able to get the answers that my professor is looking for. I'm probably going to have to email my professor about this... :\
And I actually spent a good amount of time going through the exhibits again, trying to find the right posters but unfortunately, I wasn't able to find it at all...
After that, it took me forever to find the subway station... I forgot to look up where the station was so I was just wandering around Lexington Ave. trying to find the right station. I did eventually find the station but somehow I must have read the signs wrong and ended up taking the uptown train (and it was the express too!) when I wanted to go downtown and I ended up at 86th St. Seeing as I began at 59th St, it was a bit of a shock. I immediately got off there and tried to find the downtown train but there was no way to get to the other side without exiting the station and if I did that, I would have to pay again to get in... So I decided to keep on going uptown and hope that I could change over to a downtown train at the next stop.
Thankfully, I was able to get onto a downtown train at 125th St and with that I was off to Union Station. I went to Trader Joe's, bought my hummus and some other stuff that caught my interest and then I went over to K-mart to get shampoo and another peeler since my last one broke a couple of weeks ago...
That part ended up doing okay except I found out later that I actually bought a bottle of shampoo that had part of its lid broken. Damn, I should really be more careful.
And then later when I got back, I made my curry and that turned out well but as I was taking out my bottle of orange soda from the fridge, I managed to knock my jar of alfredo sauce and it shattered into a million pieces and I ended up with a mess of alfredo sauce and glass on the floor. And that jar was pretty much new! I just opened it yesterday! Why is it always something of mine that breaks from that evil cursed fridge?! That's the third thing that has been broken from falling from the fridge and all three of those things were mine. *sigh* Now I have to go and buy a new jar.
Not only that! I cut my self on the thumb on the glass as I was picking it up! And somehow one glass fragment flew into my slippers and I hadn't realized and stepped down so now I also have a cut on the bottom of my left foot! :(
It just isn't my day at all... Things have not been working out at all... Hopefully tomorrow will work out better... :\
Right now I'm starting Ghost Hunt, hoping to find another anime that is compatible with me. After that, I'll probably give Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto another shot and if it doesn't work out, I can finally get rid of that show from my harddrive. It's surprising but my external harddrive that I bought in November is almost all used up! And it was a 300 GB one too! I download way too much stuff... ^^;;; That reminds me, I should probably burn some of the stuff off of it... :\
edit x1: Ugh, I just remembered that I forgot to buy toothpaste... :( And I absolutely need toothpaste... I think I have about three more uses with the one I still have and that will last about a day... :(
