I stayed up until 7:30 AM watching episodes of Doogie Howser, M.D on Hulu. *dies* And now my eyes are totally paying for it. I just kinda want to shut them again and go back to sleep. But I can't. I have plans for today, some of which including watching more Doogie Howser.

So why the sudden interest in Doogie? Well, I've always, ALWAYS loved this show. My family knows about my obsession with him and I had probably the largest crush on Neil Patrick Harris when I was a kid. Of course, back then I was in elementary school so it wasn't really a crush crush per se, but lots of admiration and adoration. Even back then I adored geniuses and kid geniuses even more so. Above all, I like people who are really good at what they do and Doogie Howser, a doctor at age 16 was really good at what he did. Still looking back, it was the beginning of a lifelong love of Neil Patrick Harris. And when I found out he was gay, well, I was shocked for one thing. But unlike Lance Bass who I felt like it was coming and also a bit of pity for the women gender who is now deprived of him, I totally didn't see his announcement coming. I mean he plays this very convincing, very obnoxious womanizer on TV. But, as a very fanatic slash fan, I was eventually delighted by the whole thing. Ah, I do love me a gay man. ^^

Although, I remembered the show being a lot more tame that I thought it had been. But then again, most of the sexual jokes and references would have flown over my second grader self. Anyway, I noticed the torrent for the latest SNL and it's the long awaited Neil Patrick Harris hosted show! So I downloaded it and it was awesome! Who else thought the Broadway skit they did was AWESOME? I laughed so hard, it was crazy.

Oh, what the hell, everyone go and watch it:

If you know musicals, you'll love it. Even if you don't know musicals, I suspect you'll know enough to find it funny too. The reference to Avenue Q made me burst out laughing!

And his opening address was beautiful! It reference both Doogie Howser and The Wonder Years. I think all of us who grew up in the mid 80s and 90s all have fond memories of both shows and the usage of the very recognizable theme song of Doogie Howser just made me want to squeal. And go and rewatch every single episode of Doogie Howser. ^^ So I am~!

Ah, and I planned on doing some translating today too... Ah, at this rate, all I will be doing is marveling at how they actually used a boy who is the right age for his role. He's so young looking! But I was only five back then so I guess he seemed very old and cool to me at the time.
