Before, the sound of pacific tree frogs drove me insane because I thought it was some crazy creaking door moving with wind and just wouldn't quit. But now that I know what the sounds are, all I want to do is go out and hunt them down. They're just so freaking cute! And I want one, I want one of those tiny little froggies! I love frogs! And I adore tree frogs! They're small. They're cute. And they're green, my favorite color! ^^ Just thinking of them makes me wish I had kept the little froggy who wandered into our garage. But I ended up catching it with a glass and setting it free in the field behind my house.
Besides, it would be nice to have a little pet to cheer me up after the day I had. I went and did some cleaning and what did I find? Those long forgotten mice traps that I thought served their purpose and was slowly getting to getting rid of? They had mice in them! Not one, but two mice! And I screamed. I screamed a lot. All that protesting the first time a mouse was found (hell, even the second time), and all that avoidance was all for naught -- I ended up having to see a dead mouse anyway. :( Not cool. The saddest part of the whole thing? One of them was one of those mercy traps but the damn mouse died before I realized it was even in it and I couldn't let it go outside... :( I feel really, really, really, bad about that one since I essentially let the thing starve to death in a tiny plastic box. :( Seriously, it seemed like such a good idea in the beginning -- buy one of those traps, let it go when they get caught but as I didn't expect it to work half a year after I set the damn trap. I stopped looking in on it and it got away from me.
Anyway, since obviously we still have mice in the house, I've reset all the traps. Hopefully that'll deal with the problem (or at least give me the sense that I'm doing something to deal with the problem) and I can rest a bit easier. After the whole mice ordeal, I went and obsessively cleaned the kitchen and after that, took a very long shower. *shudders* Diseased mouse germs, yuck.
And oh, the second half of the second season of Burn Notice? Where were you in my life? I thought I had been following it regularly but when I tried watching the third season premier, it became painfully obvious that I had missed some things. But reconnecting and getting caught up was a hell of a lot of fun. I mean, Michael Shanks as the evil but not so evil Victor was awesome! Best character yet! Too bad he's now dead because he made a great team with Michael. And I'm off to watch the season premier, finally. Hopefully the third season will be just as awesome as the second.
Oh, froggies, croak away. You make me smile with your sounds. ^^
