I think the cold weather is causing some power problems... It keeps blinking in and out on us -- gone for a second but back just as quickly and then a couple minutes later it happens again... It's rather annoying and I can't help but wonder what sort of damage it might be doing to my laptop...

Could it be ice? I can't think of another reason for it... The temperature outside is hovering in the teens as it's been for the last couple of days (with drops down to single digits at night) so ice would be reasonable if we had any moisture. Which we don't which doesn't make much sense to me...

Either way, I think I'm better off turning my computer off for now... Hopefully the power interruptions will end in a couple of hours...

Right now, I'm just glad my clock has a back-up battery. I would really hate to have to reset my clock after each of these flickers only to have it dashed away with the next one.

What causes hiccups? This is the third time in two days that I've gotten them and it's drying me a bit crazy... I tried chugging water -- didn't help. Neither did holding my breath which generally gets rid of it but no luck... I guess I'll just have to wait until they go away on their own...

Anyway, it's still cold here. But warmer than yesterday. But still below freezing. But at least we're in the twenties now (low twenties, granted but much better than say...eleven degrees). Still no snow. And what do I see on the news? The majority of the United States has been or will be hit with a snow storm. Lots of snow. I swear, it's like someone up there hates me and just want me to have a snowless winter. I am immensely jealous even though I know most of those people are probably cursing the snow -- especially those people that lost power *winces* -- but right now I would gladly take their snow. I don't want much, just a little... As it is, we're probably not going to have a white Christmas... :(

Translating is draining. I'm devoting the next hour to it but I feel like I'm working on a chapter that just will not end. It doesn't help that I never seem to make much progress on it... It also doesn't help that this is the longest chapter I've ever worked on... There are times where it flows so well and then there are these moments of massive amounts of dialogue that make me go >< and want to run away to a good fanfic to play with. *sigh* I'll chug away at it...

Maybe some coffee would help...
