Chicken Tikka Masala!

It turned out really well! It tastes just like how you would get it at an Indian restaurant! But I did make it a bit too spicy... I ended up with a good amount of sauce, which is good for me since I love eating it with rice. In the end, I didn't have any basmati rice (why is it so expensive?) so we just ate it with regular long grain Jasmine rice.
Anyway, it was delicious! I did end up making a few mistakes with it though... First was the lemon seeds -- the marinade has lemon juice in it and I had a lemon left over from when I made scones. So I juiced the lemon but the seeds fell in and I was too lazy to actually dig them out. I figure the marinade would be thin enough that it wouldn't matter but after I added the yogurt (another mistake but more on that later), it become so thick that I couldn't find them anymore. ><
With the yogurt, well, the recipe calls for a cup of plain yogurt and somehow at the supermarket, I grabbed the peach yogurt instead. While the chicken was marinading, all I could smell were the peaches... I was so freaked out that that would be what ruins the whole dish. :( And I desperately wanted it to go well since I was adding it to our dinner tonight.
But thankfully, no one could taste the peaches. It was probably the freaking huge amounts of spices that drowned out all the peach flavor. And besides, the dish probably needed the added sweetness since there was no sugar added. I ended up using more of the coconut milk than I wanted to but that was because my sister said it was a bit sour (from the tomato sauce) and I also just wanted more of the sauce.
Which is ironic since even though there was a ton of sauce when I made it, it ended up not being all that much once it thickened up... Whatever, there was still a good amount and I have extra rice to eat the leftovers. I'm rather pleased with how it all turned out. Now, if only the pictures I had taken of it weren't so blurry... *sigh* Maybe a picture of the leftovers will be better.
