Oct. 31st, 2010 05:20 amIt's the end of October and I'm finally making a dent on the massive amounts of TV I've accumulated. More because I've given up on a few shows like Caprica (what is the point if it's canceled?) and The Event -- I had several episodes but never started watching it and it didn't seem like I had time for it so I decided to just give up until I had nothing. Which isn't now since I still haven't finished watching Doctor Who or started on Merlin...
Anyway, Doctor Who got regulated to the external hard drive, and I'm working on Merlin. Oh yeah, I still love that series. I'm glad I kept it around -- I definitely needed something British in my life right now.
And not only that, but I finished my translations for both Eroica and Hanagata. I feel poised for midnight tomorrow. Goal? 2,500-3,000 words before the end of the day on Monday. There will probably be a lot of Write or Die, a lot of random posts about my writing progress, and after November starts, I suspect the TV shows I have on my laptop will accumulate once again. :\
So, at the very least, I want to get through all of the Merlin episodes that have piled up... I mean, I downloaded episode eight today, and there are usually only a dozen or so episodes in a season (although why next year only gets 10, I have no idea -- give me more Merlin! British shows are already too short! Single Father only gets FOUR episodes... Not nice considering everything) so it's starting to be a bit like Doctor Who -- the season just passes me by because I don't have time to fit it in.
But gah, watching Merlin always makes me want to read Arthur/Merlin fics, although the urge for Arthur/Gwen fics pop in as well, which make me feel bad because I feel like Arthur/Merlin should be the rightful pairing but at the same time, Arthur/Gwen also feels like the rightful one as well... *sigh* It's hard. I don't read fic from the series, mostly because most of the Arthur/Gwen fic are so horrible written, the fans are quite horrid (seriously, I feel like het pairings get the crazies when it comes to defending their pairing) and the ones that aren't bad, are short. And I always prefer to read something long with substance rather than something short and sweet. And now that I'm older, I have less of a craving for WiPs. So yeah, I'm limited in what I want and am willing to read.
Not that I'll have much time for that either... Oh dear, this month is going to be a handful. But I'm actually quite excited. I can't way to play with the widgets -- I think I customized mine last year so I'll have to dig it up because I really liked it. That, and I adore pretty things. Why isn't it November yet? (Although, I have more conflicting feelings -- I don't really want it to be November either)... ><
Okay back to Merlin. Maybe I'll finally go and find those really long slash fics I've always thought about doing. Something long and serious and very angsty but with a happy ending. It would be nice to have new fic to explore...
