The War Against Women Is Never Over
Mar. 10th, 2012 02:03 amI registered to vote even before I officially turned 18 (the benefits of having a birthday in November) and I've voted on every election, every measure that has since been brought up. I've always thought of participating and voting as a civic duty that has been largely forgotten and undervalued but I've always tried to do my part at the very least. Even when some people have questioned the ability of one person making a difference, even from my own family, I've always held firm that this was a duty of the highest honor and it pains me to see so many people writing it off.
Hopefully this inspires my fellow American sisters to take more of an active role in our country's future. Just thinking of how these women suffered just so we can squander the right they desperately fought for brings tears to my eyes. We honor all their sacrifices and their courage each and every time we vote.

When they marched for the women's right to vote 100 years ago, they were imprisoned, put into straight jackets and force fed until they vomited blood. They fought for your right to own property, to have access to birth control and your right to an education. This video is fun and clever and hits on some hard truths. And it makes you ask yourself...what I am willing to do today to fight back and protect our rights as women and citizens?
