You've got to be kidding me!

I don't know why this is bothering me. Really, it's such a small thing that I shouldn't be bothered at all and yet, I can't help but be annoyed when it happens.
My roommate likes to hum. And sing out of tune. And tap her shoes on the floor (plastic on hardwood too!). It drives me insane, particularly when I'm studying in bed with no way of not hearing it. Seriously, I wonder if she does it on purpose to annoy me but that makes no sense at all since she really wouldn't do something like that. Still, even though I know it's not conscious, the very act of it makes me want to go and tap my fingers on the nearest wall, consistently and firmly just to make her realize how freaking annoying something like that is (since she does tapping most of all and it's the most insistent sound that I have ever heard in my life).
Gah, at least on my laptop at my desk I can put on my headphones and block the sound from my mind. The problem is that I lack such a defense on my bed. I'm stuck eyeing her figure and staring at her, hoping she'll get a clue because I'm too much of a coward to go out and say "do you mind?" or something else along those lines. :(
*eyes headphones* I wonder if they'll stretch to my bed... Hmm....

on 2005-09-17 10:16 pm (UTC)Somehow, I think popping joints is a more scary sound... I didn't know there was a bright side to this but clearly, tapping is a better alternative to popping joints.

Read down from there. It's a small PoT pairing war. A comic one, presented in the form of ficlets. Gave me a good laugh.

on 2005-09-17 10:41 pm (UTC)I can't even pop any of my joints... I think I would be too scared to pop something out of place should I try.
