So today I caught up with BECK with the rest of the 24th and all of the 25th volume. I hadn't realized that there was another group scanlating so I've been waiting for MangaOne all this time when I could have been downloading the Mongolian Chop Scans versions instead. Ah well...
But reading them, I've realized what I love and hate about BECK all at once. I love how realistic it is, how hard these boys have to work for every break and how they aren't geniuses (not that I don't love geniuses but it's a nice change) that aren't immediately successful at everything they do. They're human and this manga just makes you fall in love with that side of them.
But what I hate is how they seem to run into trouble after trouble after trouble and that they're in danger of breaking up AGAIN after all this time. They never seem to find their footing at all and this always affects their playing abilities and it's getting really annoying. While I love the fact that they're not perfect, but this is getting to be too much! It's one thing after another and I want them to be happy and I want to to enjoy some level of success. The way it's going now, they're going to show up at England, to the Avalon Festival and they'll probably break up right before they even perform. I want them to rub Ran's face in with their success, I want the world to recognize their talent. it's been 25 volumes and it seems like they're worse off than when they started. At least back then, there wasn't this evil Koyuki/Chiba tension that is underlying everything. *sigh* I guess all I can hope for is for my boys to get through this like they've gotten through everything else.
In other news, I am really enjoying Chou Hikou Shounen's music. I have no idea who they are, if they're a band or if it's just one person but what ever they are, their music is damn good. I downloaded their Super Flying Boy album for the ending theme to The Third but I got sucked in with the rest of the tracks on there. They're seriously so damn good. They have exactly the sound that I love with enough variety in their tracks to make me yearning for more. I look forward to seeing more stuff from this artist because from what I've heard, they're going to become a favorite of mine.
